Well, just dammit. I'd like to say that something like this is unbelievable, but it's not, no it is not.

I don't understand cases like this. It is fine to teach your kid how to shoot - but "how to shoot" is just one part of gun ownership! That's like teaching a kid to start, accelerate, and brake a car but neglecting things like red = stop. Even if you want a firearm immediately accessible at 3am, there are secure cases to fit along the mattress, under the bed, or in the nightstand. Get it on Prime Day, for heaven's sake! It isn't just the dead child - the living child has to live with that, too. Totally unfair and 100% preventable.
