Joseph Vazquez knows that his younger brother, Earvin Otero, prefers to dress as a woman.

The younger sibling, he said, was taking hormone pills and had discussed with him his plans to ultimately transition into a woman.

Vazquez knows that Otero was dressed as a woman on Saturday night when he met up with friends at Mamajuana nightclub in Lebanon.

Ok, so EO was not yet identifying as a woman. Otherwise that title is offensive. Unfortunately LBGTQ+ people are at significantly higher risks of stranger danger.

The name, city, and age are right. It's 5 years old but Eavrin was brought up on Criminal Charges of harassment in 2017 after a complaint was made. I hope LE looks into whoever made that complaint but after 5 years it's probably unrelated. Just a note: Court records show he has used the names: Earvin Ivan Otero-Arrueat, Earvin Iv Otero-Arrufat, Earvin Otero, Carvin Otero if that will provide any clues on social media as to who he might have been talking to. Hope he is found safe and soon! Case Search

Thanks for the thread, Guy. Very upsetting.
SMH. I had a hard time breathing when I read this -- it's almost been a week.
So EO went to the nightclub that night to meet with friends -- assuming EO has been there before. Hoping that someone in the group of friends knows where EO was headed next. Meeting someone new is scary.
So hoping EO is safe, but I don't like it. Saying a prayer.

Driver found dead inside vehicle discovered 'significant amount of time' after crash

PERRY COUNTY, Pa. — On March 28, around 6:40 p.m. Pennsylvania State Police were called for a vehicle off the road crashed in a ravine.

(...)

The driver of the car was Earvin Otero-Arrufat, who police say, was found dead inside the vehicle.

According to police, Otero-Arrufat was driving at a fast speed southbound US 11/15 about half a mile north of Newport Road in Penn Township, Perry County.

Police say, Otero-Arrufat lost control of their vehicle going around a left curve, the reason for losing control is unknown.

Otero-Arrufat hit an embankment on the right side of the road causing the vehicle to go airborne before striking a tree and coming to a final rest in the ravine which was about 20 feet below road level, according to police.

Police investigation points to the crash occurring a "significant amount of time" before the vehicle was found and police were called.

WHAT?!?!?! Wait, wait, wait. EO crashed their car, and no one noticed for a WEEK?!?!? I want to see the autopsy report to make sure EO wasn't hurt by someone before they crashed.

My thoughts as well. I hope an autopsy is done and made available, assuming it is okay with the family.
Were there no skidmarks? No other people were on the road to see the accident? Was EO trying to get away from someone? Forced off the road? Cellphone checked to see if EO had been threatened or hurt? Was EO harassed such that she would try to get away? Did someone force EO off the road?
Hoping we will get a bit more info, but we may not.
May she rest in peace and love, and may her loved ones remember her good qualities, laughter and beauty.

Was it confirmed that EO had made it to the nightclub? Could alcohol have been a factor?
Weather conditions that evening?

I don't believe they can do an accurate BAC this late.

Sometimes a car accident is just a car accident.

Ugh l heartbreaking! A little bugged by the continued use of male pronouns…
At the very least they didn’t experience the horrors of bigotry during death, I hope they didn’t suffer. Sending hugs to her family

So I drive past this 3-4 times a week, there was a shrine and they had rainbow ribbons tied to the guard rail. Along with a plaque and some flowers… 1 I have no idea how his car got down there, they said he went airborne but I call bs because there were no tire marks on the road or embankment and the guard rail was untouched. And they said he was going southbound around a curve there the ‘curve’ is not really that large it’s pretty straight and starts going up hill. 2 slowly the shrine started to lose some of the ribbons, plaque and all and I just said to my husband, someone is taking the stuff away. My husband said well it’s been windy, but that does not explain why some of the flowers remain there! I don’t know why this stays on my mind but once I started digging I am feeling there is foul play.

I hope they can yield something conclusive from the autopsy and tox report... wonder if drug metabolites or a higher BAC (than is expected from one week of decomp) will be found.

They could have blacked out, and/or perhaps had something else in their bloodstream beyond alcohol. Regardless, gone too soon. Prayers for the family and loved ones.

I wish the media and commenters were respectful of Otero's identity as she clearly preferred to be preferred to as she and lived as a woman. May she rest in peace. I hope LE can find out what exactly happened to her. :(

Apparently her preferred name was Africa Otera. The link they included didn't say anything about that, TDOR is the only source I can find, but I still think it's good information to have.
