From what I understand this must be a preliminary investigation into misconduct on someone’s part.

It’s sort of implied in Dr Osbourne’s statement.

I vaguely remember there were indications LE/DAO had tried to coerce him in a more subtle manner before that closed-door meeting but he wouldn’t budge. Due to the absurd stabbing pattern obviously. It’s a very good thing he was adamant about the manner of death and preserved the spinal cord sample.

He gets way too much flack IMO.
