Four killed, one wounded in jealousy fueled shooting at Pennsylvania car wash

"A gunman in a jealous rage killed four people, including the 25-year-old woman he was infatuated with, at a western Pennsylvania car wash early Sunday, authorities said.

The shooter, Tim Smith, is expected to die after taking a bullet to the head, which police believe was likely self-inflicted during the 3 a.m. attack at Ed’s Car Wash in Saltlick Township."

Pretty telling pic at link. Yep. This is all very normal in a civilized society. No problems here. Nothing to see...

I'm intrigued. How does the perp know all these people are going to show up at the car wash at 3 am.

I am quite familiar with this area. It is located an hour's drive east of Pittsburgh in the "Laurel Highlands" mountainous area of Western Pennsylvania. The Appalachian Trail passes through here. At 2500 ft. elevation, these are old mountains. But there are several large ski resorts in the immediate area of this shooting.

The local word, now confirmed in MSM it that the victims (4 dead, 1 injured) were drinking in a local bar located in Donegal, PA - which is maybe 5 mi. or so from where this happened. The killer, who was still enamored with one of the victims despite having been thrown over by her, ran into the group at the bar on Saturday night. Words were exchanged between the killer and a male victim who was with the ex-girlfriend. The killer "placed hands on" the new boyfriend (who happened to be a newlywed with a pregnant wife) and was ejected from the bar by management. The others stayed on at the bar drinking.

The killer then apparently went home and got his guns. State police say they have issued subpoenas and will examine cell phone records to attempt to determine exactly how the killer lured the victims to the shooting site. The surviving female victim, who crouched in the rear seat of an extended cab pickup truck as the killer shot the two front seat passengers, surely will be able to provide some answers.

There is no question the victims were lured to their deaths. Two victims arrived first, got out of their vehicle and were shot as they approached the killer's vehicle. The other two victims arrived on the scene just then and were shot while still inside their vehicle.

This is a small, insular type of area where everybody seems to be related. People are either step-siblings or cousins. The kind of area where you would never want to say a bad word about anyone, because you likely are talking to a relative of the person. BUT they will freely bad-mouth each other.

Such a shame that four young people are dead. Both female victims were single mothers of young children.

Jealousy, alcohol and guns do not mix.

Thank you for the clarification. This makes more sense than whats being reported.
