I don’t know if it would have helped here. I’ve been involved in a number of fire incidents that killed entire families. Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors, please everyone. Photoelectric and ionization. The three technologies cannot be combined into one detector. And read the manuals for proper placement! Detectors do expire, so test them throughout the year. Fire departments may provide free detectors if you call and ask, and they are usually so thrilled to provide them :)

Unfortunately, any safety measures would not have helped in this case of triple murder-suicide.
