Blair County Prison escapee sought in Philly

U.S. Marshals have recovered a vehicle in Philadelphia that is believed to have been stolen by Isaiah Robert Tilghman, who escaped from a prison near Pittsburgh on Dec. 3. Officials are still searching for Tilghman.

Philadelphia, PA — The U.S. Marshals Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force today recovered a license plate that was previously on a vehicle believed to be stolen by a man who escaped Blair County Prison Dec. 3.

Isaiah Robert Tilghman, 33, was incarcerated on narcotics charges and Pennsylvania State Parole violations when he escaped.

At 1:30 today, members of the fugitive task force in Philadelphia recovered Pennsylvania License plate ZNR-9945 in the 3500 block of Belgrade street. The tag was on a red Ford F-150 (pictured below) similar to the red 2011 Ford F-150 stolen by Tilghman in Blair County. PA tag ZKA-1062 was taken from the Ford-150 on Belgrade street, and investigtors presume that Tilghman had switched the plates on or around the morning of Dec. 5.

Tilghman is a Black man, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair and multiple tattoos on both arms. His last known address was in the 6200 block of Dickens Avenue in Philadelphia.

“This fugitive task force in now working two simultaneous escape investigations,” said Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Clark. “We continue to ask the public for any tips relating to Gino Hagenkotter and Isaiah Tilghman.”

Hagenkotter escaped Nov. 30 from Philadelphia’s Riverside Correctional Facility where he was incarcerated on low level crimes.

have found stolen red pick-up that escaped prisoner drove four hours/230 miles to Philadelphia after escaping Blair County prison. It was found in the 2600 block of Front Street. They’re still looking for Isaiah Tilghman,33.

Isaiah Tilghman, who escaped from Blair County Prison in western Pennsylvania in December 2023, was arrested Friday morning in Philadelphia, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - An escaped prisoner from western Pennsylvania was arrested in Philadelphia on Friday, according to U.S. Marshals. Isaiah Tilghman, 33, was captured around 11 a.m. in the 3300 block of Aramingo Avenue in the city's Port Richmond neighborhood.

Tilghman escaped from Blair County Prison, located in Hollidaysburg, on Dec. 3, 2023, after he was arrested on drug-related charges and parole violations. Logan Township police said on social media at the time that a notice from the Blair County Prison Board said Tilghman was un-sentenced. He has since been charged with escape, flight to avoid apprehension and related charges.

U.S. Marshals said Tilghman was seen in Kensington earlier in the week.
