Woman, 19, stabbed to death by ex-boyfriend in Bucks County, officials say

A 19-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend in Bucks County, officials said.

On Friday, Feb. 16, around 2:45 p.m., Lower Makefield Police responded to a reported disturbance on Waterford Road. When they arrived, they found Weigel stabbing Battista, according to investigators.

Battista was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.

Police said Weigel fled the scene and was chased by responding officers. During the chase, Weigel stabbed himself, according to investigators. The officers then used a Taser on Weigel and captured him.

Investigators said Weigel and Battista had dated for about two months but ended the relationship about two months ago.

Through the investigation, police learned that Battista was speaking to a friend through Facetime at 2:15 p.m. when Battista told the friend that Weigel, her ex-boyfriend, arrived at her house unannounced and began banging on the door, attempting to get inside.

While speaking with Battista, the friend heard her say that Weigel was able to get into the house through a first-floor window. The friend heard a commotion, followed by a thump, and then Battista's voice became muffled as if someone was holding their hand over her mouth to prevent her from speaking.

The phone call was terminated, and the friend attempted to call back several times, but the calls went unanswered.

The 19-year-old victim was identified as Jaden Battista, who lived in a residence in the 2500 block of Waterford Road. The investigation revealed she had a past relationship with Weigel.

Man accused of fatally stabbing ex-girlfriend in Bucks ordered to stand trial

L. MAKEFIELD TWP., Pa. - A man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend in Bucks County faced a preliminary hearing Tuesday.

Weigel was ordered to stand trial following the hearing held at the Bucks County Criminal Justice Center, the DA's office said.

He appeared Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Corryn L. Kronnagel on charges of homicide, burglary, possession of an instrument of crime, disorderly conduct, and harassment.
