James David Edsall was last seen on November 13 at his residence in Prompton. Troopers from PSP Honesdale have checked multiple areas in Bethany Borough, Prompton and Hamlin. His truck, a maroon Ford F250 with a PA Registration YKP4225 is also missing.

Police: missing Wayne County man took own life

A Wayne County man who was missing for several days took his own life, state police at Honesdale said Saturday.

Troopers reported two hunters discovered 46-year-old Prompton resident James D. Edsall’s Ford F250 about 8:15 a.m. Saturday at a state game lands parking area on Pine Mill Road and called 911.

Troopers searched the area and found Edsall’s body in the woods, state police said. They found no signs of foul play.
