ugh, heartbreaking all over again. I want to add that I hope something good comes from all of this, but I can't imagine what. His poor cousin's family, having to re-live this all again... So sad that so many people failed you, little one.

"Common Pleas Judge Barbara McDermott, a former defense attorney, said the pain and torture inflicted by Khalil's parents for three years on their son makes this "the worst case I've seen."

"This is not a day for mercy," she said before sentencing each defendant to 30 to 60 years in state prison."


Thank the Lord for this judge! Cold comfort, though, for the woman who raised him for three years. I can't imagine her pain.

I'm glad there's some justice for you, little man.

February 2015 - Tina Cuffie appeals, but the judges affirm the original decision and sentence.

Following a bench trial, both Appellant and Hadi were found guilty of
third-degree murder, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault under 18
Pa.C.S.A. § 2702(a)(1), and endangering the welfare of a child.1
On
November 26, 2013, the trial court sentenced both Appellant and Hadi to
serve a term of 20 to 40 years in prison for third-degree murder and to
serve a consecutive term of ten to 20 years in prison for conspiracy to
commit aggravated assault.
