Unfortunately, part of me feels like this is a hate crime based on the recent surge of anti-East-Asian sentiments that have sadly been growing in the US during the COVID pandemic. Also, I could have sworn that they were added to NAMUS earlier this week.

Pair whose bodies were left in woods are identified, police say

“Authorities investigating two bodies found last month in a wooded area of Carbon County say they have identified both victims.

The female victim is identified as Jingzhen Gao, 55, from Flushing, New York, according to a news release Friday from Pennsylvania State Police.

Investigators also know the identity of the male victim but say his name won’t be released until family members are notified.

“Updates will be made available as the investigation progresses,” the release states.”
