Wow. DNA and genealogy got her!

Brazzle now lives in Indiana and was arrested at a California airport. Her daughter would be 14 now. That is if she hadn't died of asphyxia.

Brazzle wrapped her in a bloody towel, and plastic bags and a tote then dumped her by the Y where she worked.

Thank you to all who took this little newborn girl and gave her a name and burial. Thanks also to LE that doggedly pursued the "person" who asphyxiated their newborn and threw her away in the trash.

MOTHER ARRESTED in cold case, accused of killing newborn in 2007
LANCASTER, Pa. —
The district attorney has announced the arrest of a woman in a 2007 cold case homicide of a newborn baby in Lancaster, Pa.

The body of "Baby Mary Anne" was found in a dumpster behind the Lancaster YMCA on Sept. 24, 2007. The baby had been wrapped in a towel, plastic bags and then placed in a canvas bag.

I could have sworn that Baby Mary Anne had a thread on WS but I guess not. Baby Allison does (also Lancaster County) but not Mary Anne. I had her in the Babyland section of my PA site ... over 200 people attended her funeral at St Anthony's.

I'm so glad she's been identified. God bless the people of Lancaster who adopted her as their own and never forgot her.

This is good to see. I'm kind of local to this one, and it's nice to see technology continues to evolve.

I just can't even imagine how these murderers continue to function and live life with the inner knowledge of what they've done.

A former Lancaster County woman will spend at least 5-½ years in prison after admitting Tuesday that prosecutors could prove she caused the death of her newborn nearly 16 years ago if the case went to trial.
