I included screenshots of newspaper articles in another post and the mods removed it because of "copyright," yet I have seen screenshots of articles posted elsewhere that are still up. Do I just need to post a link to where I got it from?
This one always seemed personal, perhaps someone trying to claim life insurance or an estranged child or spouse. This case does not appear to be random.
It’s a long shot, but is there any chance this could be Helen Lundgren Dalton? Helen’s disappearance was supposedly April 1963, but I’m not sure how reliable that date is since she wasn’t reported missing until August of that year, and that was done by her sister who lived states away, not by her husband or children.
Feb 4, 1963 - UID's head is found in basement of 624 N Marshall St.
May 15, 1963 - the body of Tillie Judelson, 80, is found in a trunk in her home at 604 W Jefferson St. Tillie's husband had died years before but she continued to live in their home and took in boarders.
(Police were seeking the identity of her last group of boarders, who had lived there until 5 months previous. The 2nd floor of Tillie's house was vacant when her body was found.)
Francisco Feliciano was extradited from Puerto Rico to Philly where he was tried and convicted of Tillie's murder. Later, in a second trial, he was acquitted. Newspaper accounts had him living on Fairmount St, Marshall, Franklin, near Marshall, near Jefferson. He did stay with relatives for a while on one of those streets, he was definitely in that neck of the woods and was suspected in UID's death after admitting to authorities in Puerto Rico that he had killed 2 women in Philly.
So, could he at one time been a boarder at Tillie's? (he allegedly told an acquaintance he planned to rob her). Could the unidentified lady have been a boarder and is this how Feliciano knew her?
The old NamUs entry for this woman had the address found as 426 N Franklin St - property under demolition for construction of I-676. The current page has no address listed that we can see, just Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19106 and an inaccurate map.
I've found several articles that have the address where the head was found as 624 N Marshall St (zip code 19123) - over a 1/2 mile north of N Franklin St & Rte 676.
Maybe not huge deal since the address is no longer publicly viewable. I am wondering though, if there's another case where someone was found at the Franklin St address.
