On Thursday, police told Action News that bone fragments from a human foot were found buried under four-feet of concrete.

The search began earlier this week after investigators got a tip that a woman's body was buried in the basement.
---------------------------------

"The girl has been missing eight years," said one neighbor who identified himself as Art. "The family was in and out of there all the time. At least they finally found her."

Also from the above article:

Anyone have any guesses on who this could be? The article doesn't say anything such as "Police say these may be the remains of _______" or even something like "_______ went missing 8 years ago but police will not comment on whether or not this search was related"

Hard to tell. On the one hand the report was for a missing woman, but then the neighbor said "that girl has been missing..." Whoever she is, I'm thinking she's fairly young.

It's been suggested elsewhere, but Amanda DeGuio seems to fit the (limited) criteria. She's been missing from Drexel Hill for eight years.
Agreed. Was just checking around online and articles about her popped up first. And of the 5 missing women from 2014/2015 listed in Namus for PA, she seemed to match up in terms of dates and area.

Here's another out of Philadelphia in 2014.The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

Going with the girl rather than woman, there's Estefani Rivadeneyra. Only 15 years old. Missing since 5/5/2015.

Circumstances of Disappearance On 05-08-15, The complainant's foster mother reported her missing. She stated, in summary, that the complainant had been placed with her and her husband two (2) weeks prior to the her absence. She further stated that the complainant left for school, at 7:15am on 05-07-15, Benjamin Franklin High School and did not return. The complainant routinely returned from school, no later than 5:00pm.

“Philadelphia police said they have ‘no releasable information’ as of Tuesday, Dec. 20. The department confirmed to Daily Voice last week that it was investigating a tip regarding human remains at a property near 5200 Burton, but declined to go into detail.” Body Mummified In Concrete Removed From Philadelphia Home: Report

I wonder if Upper Darby/Delaware Co are involved.

Authorities say they believe they know who the victim is, but they're still working to confirm her identity.

A source told FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce that police never received a missing report about the woman.

If true, that would seem to rule out Amanda. I believe her mother reported her missing about 2.5 months after she left the house. Amanda DeGuio - Delaware County District Attorneys Office

What has blown me away as DNA and advanced/persistent investigation (the latter in this case) have continued is how many missing people were never reported.

”He ran away”
”She walked out”
”He said he was traveling for a while”
”She left in the middle of the night”
”He left for her”
”She left with him”

Not to be classist, but - it’s mind-blowing. I cannot imagine someone I love or even like vanishing and not raising that issue in a reportable, documented way. Until the last few years (and Websleuths) I failed to realize that my view is not a majority view, and that distancing, distrust, fear, apprehension, classism, parochialism are all SO DEEPLY EMBEDDED in what actually goes on when someone disappears in the US.

It really sounds like the neighbor's story about a "girl" living in the house going missing eight years ago may turn out to be true, especially if the woman was never reported missing to the police.
