GUILTY PA - Rashida Anderson, 37, murdered, Philadelphia, 28 Nov 2010

Very very few murderers are insane.

And yes, some of them do just get up one day and decided to kill someone........even their own mothers or fathers.

It happens all the time unfortunately.

IMO

Maybe it's just me - I think they're all insane! I look at the "talk back" mom who killed her 2 young children recently because they talked backed to her. She premediated this crime by buying the gun, then had to wait 3 days to get it. Then wrote the rambling letters. Those are the killers I'm talking about, and I think (IMHO) we see more of those than the ones who kill on a whim (ie, the Arizona killer). He's a complete nutter too if ya ask me (again MOO).

I know I could probably come up with a few who kill on a whim, but I just can't think of any - especially children vs. parents.

Best,

Mel

Mind you I don't have the answers, but I used to go by a saying my gram had "You can be spoiled and not fresh. You can be an only child given everything in sight and still be polite, and have morals".

This kid not only murdered his mother he stuck her in the oven. Being such a brainyard he was going to try and cremate her so there was no evidence.

Heck, alot of kids snap. They may even kill a parent. Murder a parent, but imagine dragging your own mother ya clawed with a hammer down the steps as she moaned. Lady was alive.

This is way more than instant messaging, too many computer games, and a fresh a*s attitude. He left the house. He came back and his own mother was still breathing and he in his own words finished her off.

If it wasn't his mom it was going to be someone else up the road I bet.

BBM.

Also in his own words, from the article linked above:
"I really miss my mom . . . she was the only person who cared for me."

Impossible to explain...

Yes, she cared about HIM he didn't care about her. She was useful and now that she is dead he realizes that. No one is visiting him or fawning over him or telling him he is special and they will help him get through this.

She premeditated this crime by buying the gun, then had to wait 3 days to get it. Then wrote the rambling letters. I do understand why some people immediately want to think that anyone who murders has to be insane. I think it is a protective mechanism and a way to feel safer but imo in reality it just isn't the truth.

Yes, it is scary to consider that anyone... even if they are sane can murder someone in a heartbeat. A tiny minority of mentally ill people murders people. Very seldom do mentally ill people harm anyone at all and if they do......most of the time it is to do harm to themselves......not others.

I don't think the 'mouthy" mother killer will be declared mentally insane. I think the surveillance tape when she entered the gun shop to purchase the murder weapon will show a very calm, 'normal' individual who probably was very at ease and lied to the gun shop owner by telling him her husband was a way a lot and she needed it for protection.JMO. All of her steps from the moment she formed this plot took great aforethought to not only plan......be patient, but carrying it out.

I don't think this kid killed his mother on a whim. Premeditated murder can be formed within seconds and he took hours to make this decision. So he thought about how he was going to do it all.... and that takes cognitive brain power and preplanning.

He had probably already thought about killing her before he actually did......this was just the trigger to what was already stewing in his mind.

Killing a parent or parents over something the kid valued more than human beings is not killing on a whim. Most of these case are very detailed with premeditated thoughts before the actual murders were carried out.

It seems at the time he saw his own mother as expendable and his PlayStation was not.

He chose the PlayStation as having more importance to him than his own mother.
