What could have happened here?

According to Go Erie there was absolutely no reason why Eppley would shoot his friend. Maybe PTSD? His obituary said he served in The Marine's. Both men had their girlfriends with them.

At least the friend is out of the hospital. The man having nothing to do with this has to feel awful. He saved a life and took a life.
