No foul play suspected in death of Missing Lackawanna County man

April 26
Mountain Regional Police say they do not believe there was any foul play that led to the death of a man who was missing for nearly three weeks.

Police say around 11:00 a.m. a volunteer search and rescue team located the body of Nicholas.

An autopsy was conducted by the Monroe County Coroners Office on Monday, 4/26. Results are pending.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police say there is no evidence leading to foul play and Police do not have any reason to believe there is a public safety hazard.

The investigation is ongoing and additional details surrounding the death of Nicholas will be released as the investigation unfolds.

What a shame. He seems like a capable man. The world's probably worse for not having him in it. I bet he had some sort of medical event but still found some kind of shelter for himself and his dog and the loyal dog stayed with him as long as he possibly could. Sad but also maybe how he would have wanted to go if they regularly went for long walks like that together. I hope the dog is given a good home now (sounds like the rest of the family was pretty familiar with it) and once again a reminder for those of us who have older active loved ones to try to get them to carry a phone with active locating software on it.
