Why? From second link in Richrd's post:
"During that interview, Reeser told police that his grandmother was supposed to take him "to a scheduled meeting at school. Reeser did not want to go to the meeting," the affidavit states."

16-year-old who was mentally ill when he killed his grandmother in 2016 is headed to state prison until at least his mid-20s.

Hunter R. Reeser, who was 14 when he was charged with homicide in his grandmother's shooting, received 10 to 20 years in state prison Thursday from Erie County Judge Joseph M. Walsh.
