Presumed Located Paul Hemming- Missing 1998 (weird find???)

Does anyone have any info on this case?

He matched a John Doe I was looking for, but when I researched his name, I found this:

Does anyone know if this is still an active case? Because they have the same name, birthdate, and his missing date is one day off of the death date. CBI says its active as a missing person case, but???

I just emailed them, but idk if they'll respond so I thought I'd see if there were any details about EITHER of the Hemmings.

You’re right, looks like the case might have been solved way back then!
Found the obituary that matched with the tombstone: Message Boards
Only thing is that he was missing out of Adams County but location of death listed as Jefferson County... they ARE right beside each other so I guess it’s probable that it’s the same guy who traveled ?
