Phone Calls - Robyn Adams Disc 3

  • #41
I listened to the rest of the calls on Disc 3. .....

After listening to these calls, do I think this woman would make up a story saying that Casey Anthony told her incriminating information? YES I DO.

IMO Robyn Adams will NOT make a credible witness for the prosecution. They need to avoid her.

:blowkiss: for keepin' on keepin' on!

I agree with you. What I take away from the calls is:

Robyn loves her kids and misses them desperately.

Robyn would do pretty much anything if she thought it would lighten her sentence and guarantee her an earlier release.

'Code talk' - several instances of talking in code, ie. 'safety valve' and 'substantial assistance'. It is obvious both of these refer to some letters being produced to help her get her sentence reduced. It is unclear exactly what these 'letters' are - I believe they refer to the letters from KC, but someone else may interpret them to be letters from family and friends supporting her character and requesting mercy to be submitted to the judge. I don't like or trust 'code talk'. Why? IMO, code talk is used when you're doing something sneaky and underhanded. This happened between RA and her dad in the calls I listened to. (Maybe Tracey, too...not sure.)

I really have no opinion on whether Robyn made stuff up, or if what she testified to is in fact true. The only really valuable piece that Robyn could testify to is her conversation with KC right after Caylee's body was discovered and KC's reaction. (the Chaplain's visit...the trash bags that nobody but the killer and certain LE/ME would have knowledge). So far, I have not heard any of that info mentioned in the calls. Bottom line for me is, RA comes with a lot of potentially explosive baggage. I don't think the SA needs her that badly.

w/ Dad

speculating she is going to Coleman (?) She & Dad discuss where she might be sent in re. Fed prison. Dad has researched online. waiting on pre-sentencing report.

Asks Dad, "when will we know about the 'safety valve'?"

Dad: might be a week before sentencing. depends on when he gets the report back from the probation officer. safety valve is like a *unintelligible* - saying why he thinks you deserve it...."trying to change the guys mind" .. atty. not holding much faith because of the gun issue.

asks her family to pray for Maya and Casey. Maya is not doing well. "A lot different than she used to be."

Dad asks her if she has seen Casey. *RA's answer is unintelligible* (if anyone else wants to take a shot at it)
RA continues...Casey is "not holding up good, it looks like."
RA: Have you heard anything about what is going on with her or anything?
Dad: "No, they are keeping everything pretty quiet about her.
RA: "No, they just found some remains"
Dad: Yeah, they are assuming it is her, but you know how the media jumps on everything. I hope its not, but it will probably be next week before anybody even knows
RA: Keep her in prayer and her parents, too. And Maya, I don't know...she's just changed a lot.

Maya apparently got into some trouble and was moved to another dorm and has been moved back. Dad is surprised she is still there.
Dad: "oh shes back over there with you?"
RA: "She is with the people she got in trouble with over here".
Dad asks her if she can talk to Maya.
RA hesitates, then says, "No shes in trouble. She *something unintelligible* in her cell." Dad: "Dammit, she did?! Well, thats not gonna help her any. I guess all that Bible reading hasn't done her a whole lot of good."
RA: Well, I'm sure that it has, but she just got influenced"

All the people who got in trouble with Maya are back at the same dorm as RA and Casey. RA says she doesn't know anything about her (Maya's) case .... "its just sad"

RA depressed about pending sentence and not seeing her kids. Praying.

Somebody else might want to listen to this one and try to decipher what I could not figure out. It is the 12th call log listed. Plus, what is this "safety valve" reference? I saw it referred to in another post....not sure if on this thread, but it was one of the RA threads.

Does anybody know what the connection is between RA and her family and inmate Maya?

Does anybody know what the connection is between RA and her family and inmate Maya?

No, and that is one of the things I found most intriguing. There is a reference to RA's mom visiting Maya in jail. RA's mom is very religious, so I think maybe she just felt the need to visit her after hearing RA talk so often about how badly she was adjusting to being incarcerated. In the calls I listened to, Maya is mentioned more often than KC between RA and her family. How deeply the dynamics of the RA/family/Maya relationship goes is still a mystery for me.

All the talk about Maya does leave me feeling that there may have been some conspiracy between RA and Maya to use KC to their advantage. I'm really not sure about that, but it is something I consider. Maya is the one who started this whole ball rolling by snitching to LE. Not only testifying to what she witnessed, but also exposing the communication between RA & KC. It is obvious to me what Maya's motives were....she had an agenda, no doubt about it. She didn't make that call to LE to purge her soul or for noble reasons. I don't find Maya credible at all. RA was reluctant to talk at all or produce the letters. Was this a genuine reaction of not wanting to expose KC or the jail guard? Or, if there was some conspiracy between Maya and RA, did RA have second thoughts when push came to shove? RA is extremely afraid that she could be charged with commiting other crimes in re. this communication. That is why she stopped the first FDLE interview, refusing to answer certain question posed until she could consult with her attorney. The one thing you can be sure of - RA's biggest fear is having more time added to her sentence.

is there a Maya phone call thread anywhere? I am just catching up on the case and have been listening to Maya's phonecalls home, in one she speaks to her dad about KC...wondering if there is a thread up?

I listened to the rest of the calls on Disc 3. Nothing about Casey. Basically, the new attorneys, Mike and Michelle Walsh from Miami agree take her case and file an appeal on the last day possible. (These attorneys had done some work for the Casey Anthony defense, but I can't figure out what they did)

Themes throughout the calls: She misses her children. She feels she got a harsher sentence than she deserved because she used a public defender instead of hiring a private attorney.

Robyn develops panic attacks, is put onto medication. After she is sentenced the children have gone to live with their father, who indulges them and does not provide discipline. Grandma (Robyn's mother) continues to discipline them during visits and now the kids don't want to visit with them anymore.

Robyn is wailing and crying in many of the calls to her father.
She is desperate to get her sentence reduced because her kids will be all grown up by the time she gets out of prison in 10 years.

Robyn lies to people. She tells her father she does NOT want to have anything further to do with Clay's mother (Clay is the cop husband who got sentenced to 17 years). She has also told this to her friend Tracey. Then her very next call is to Clay's mother and she is sweet as pie to her, aks her to tell Clay that she still loves him.

After listening to these calls, do I think this woman would make up a story saying that Casey Anthony told her incriminating information? YES I DO.

Mike Walsh turns up on discovery page 23083 in Yuri's notes. I was trying to find out how he was involved, I found a link from his start with the defense team, it was for the bail appeal: http://www.news4jax.com/news/17039532/detail.html

Snipped from: http://www.wpbf.com/r/17039556/detail.html

Baez is working with attorney Mike Walsh, who specializes in appeals.

"It's disappointing. It's very disappointing," Baez said.

An appeal to the Florida Supreme Court is already being crafted, Baez confirmed.

What's bothering me is this question: Is RobynA, being represented by Mike Walsh? That has to be a conflict of interest :waitasec:

I'm thinking maybe he was only working on the appeal to have the bond reduced.

I think you may have misunderstood my question. I am wondering if Walsh is now working with Robyn Adams.

In Yuri's notepad, he mention "Rule 35 Issue" which is:
