I was thinking last night, I would be much more interested in reading a book from his family or hearing from them. Signs that were missed. Not that they could have changed anything, I just think it would be interesting to know what he was like at home and growing up. My heart really aches for them.

So, if I’m interpreting this right, BK had an actual object that looked like the photo on the table. A stain glass or ceramic something. He wanted to bring that into the courtroom with him but it was deemed contraband so AT xeroxed a copy for him.
Oh my gosh! How can she possibly be blind enough to not realize how that would be interpreted and how disrespectful it was!
BK was big boy enough to slaughter four people in 15 minutes, he doesn’t need a “teddy bear” to get him through sentencing.
I’ve given AT a lot of passes due to her being a defense attorney, but no more. Unforgivable.
The black heart looks to me like a little piece of black paper that kids use a wooden "pencil" to scrape the black and there are assorted colors underneath. Kids like to write their names or just scribble over the black and it's kinda like magic. To me, it looks like a heart shape was left black and the perimeter was scribbled over. I wish I could think of that these things are called. moo

Absolutely- he could have heard his own students talking about a party house- he was a TA.
But party houses are pretty easy to find when you get close.
Cars parked this way and that filling lots and street
People walking all around
Furniture outside
Smells from grills
Loud music
Outside lights
Trash cans overflowing throughout the weekend

Tons of fun when you are that age!

IMO
Any greek neighborhood.

Not sure if this tip was ever corroborated by anybody, or whether it could be.

A delivery driver phoned in a tip about seeing a man - who resembled BK - who was peeping at a house in Terre View Drive ( This is very short walk from his WSU accommodation at Steptoe apartments)
Also stands out because BK used to do boxing training back in PA.

I think he would be limited in what he could have, those little black wax papers need something kind sharp. It seems there was a report that he could have a felt tip pen?
I did not see him doodling- so I’m not sure if it was a copy of a heart drawing from somewhere.

IMO

This is the most mystifying detail I have ever heard. JMOO

Is it possible to deliver drugs to induce sleep with a flash bang gernade-like device? Sorta out there but...
I haven't gone thru the 1000's of posts here and this may have been mentioned and if it has, I apologize. Just from the few posts I've read on this mystery item that resembles a vacuum part and the light and sound I automatically thought of a cattle prod or taser of some kind. It would explain a flash and perhaps the sound like a pop or snap. I don't think there was any mention of shock marks on any of the bodies but one could have been used to maybe scare or cause compliance? Just a thought.

I know the “ L “ on his prison garb stands for size Large. I’ve seen it in other criminal mugshots. To me it stands for Loser . JMO

There aren’t enough pejoratives to describe what I think when I see his face. Ugh

But I did pull out the Thesaurus 🤣

I was wondering if someone could have mailed it to him? Like maybe his mom?

Or he could have done it with his fingernail? But then, how did he have it in jail?

moo.

Yeah I wonder if it was something from his family. I imagine his attorney would have told him not to have it in court if it was anything questionable.

For those interested, Maddie's Mother speaks about Maddie and the yellow ID sweatshirt. Those gorgeous pink boots are shown in video too, the ones that used to be displayed in the window at King Rd.

Begins at 3:27:56 (right before that Ethan's mom talks about Ethan)

It was questionable in my opinion.
Even if it was allowed, she should have advised him against it.
I realize he didn’t care, but she should have. It could have and, I think, did, scar her reputation. If he insisted on bringing it, she should have refused to sit with him. That’s on her.

I found it interesting that BK lied to LE about his TA position. He said he would be going back to WSU as a TA, although he had already been fired. Is that one doc the only one where we have seen even a glimpse of his personality, instead of other’s opinions on him? No interviews, no confessions, nothing on tape other than guilty, yes or no or respectfully decline.
He cared about his dog, he did not want to apply for programs that required the GRE, wasn’t sure about God. I wonder if he felt that they were equals. There is a lot to unpack in their small talk.
I notice both his concern about what happened to his parents and the dog and that he didn't want to take the GRE. I don't blame him in some ways--I spent a whole summer relearning Algebra for the GRE and practicing the questions on what was then a reasoning exam. But then I'm not afraid to grind and compete.

I don't know what the contraband was. I never thought of an object.

Besides illegal or dangerous items, contraband is anything prohibited-- encompasses items specifically forbidden by the warden and/or bailiff responsible for the inmate.

Earlier, there was a hearing with testimony to discuss allowing a covered leg shackle, and even BK's use of a felt-tip pen during trial. Denying table art would not surprise me. I remember Sarah Boone had a long list of wants for trial that were denied "contraband" including spiral notebooks, mascara, and fruit roll-up snacks.

If BK had a photocopy of the object at his defense table, this would be the equivalent of what he's allowed inside his jail cell. However, based on the size/over population of the Ada County Jail, the
inmates here are likely prohibited from displaying their photocopies on the walls or bunks, and probably have to keep them on their desk/table. JMO

Throughout Kohberger’s sentencing hearing, a note with a heart on it could be seen on camera sitting next to him on the defense table.

It isn’t clear what the note was. Something was handwritten on the back. Toward the end of the hearing, one of his attorneys picked it up and appeared to ask Kohberger about it.

When Kohberger said something, she smiled and took the note with her.

It could have been slipped into a legal pad so it would be there, like a woobie to comfort him, if she thought the widdle boy needed that.

It may have been a photocopy of something given to him by a member of his family, his mother perhaps, who wanted him to have it during the sentencing. Or maybe it was his own doodling with a soft felt pen. I'm not sure it really matters.
