Couple new pieces (or at least some clarity) on tonight's 20/20 about the murders, which was very well done:
As far as the timeline goes, Xana's watch (steps) and phone activity shows that she was still moving around at about 4:12am and shortly thereafter, which is a couple minutes after Kohberger would have made entry. Lt. Gilbertson (ISP Lead Detective) says that Kaylee and Maddie were killed very quickly, but were stabbed repeatedly many times.Something alerts Kohberger that Xana is there, and he stops what he is doing. Xana runs, and Kohberger attacks Xana in her doorway, where she "fought like hell." Kohberger then sees Ethan, and reaches over and stabs him, killing him instantly. He continues to fight with Xana, ending up on the floor where he kills her.
Interesting tidbit: The founder of Othram says the DNA that was flown down to their lab by law enforcement, was a lot of DNA. It was not a trace amount, and was in fact 500 times more DNA than they usually see in low quantity DNA cases.
Kohberger only left the house 3 times while he was in Pennsylvania, and was wearing rubber gloves each time. There was conversation among the family speculating as to Bryan's involvement, but they dismissed it.
Kohberger inquired as to "which [media] outlets were circling" after his arrest. Clearly surprised about the amount of attention. Totally normal concern for an innocent person.
Christmas night Kohberger was on a rudimentary serial killer website and clicked one killer after another for two hours. And finally the backstory about the Chapin family involvement with Othram. Kristen Mittelman, co-founder of Othram along with her husband David, had a chance encounter with Ethan Chapin's mom years ago, apparently prior to Kohberger being identified. Kristen told his mom "we're working on your case, and everything is going to be ok. "They relied on this to get them through their toughest days, and now want to advocate for the work being done at Othram.
