GUILTY PLEA DEAL ACCEPTED - 4 Univ of Idaho Students Murdered, Bryan Kohberger Arrested, Moscow, Nov 2022 #114

  • #3,301
A while ago KG's father SG pointed out that there will be some facts that are just "gross". I did not hear this in the interview between her sister AG and Brian Entin. Maybe this was edited out and reported later.

Ashley Banfield and Brian Entin spoke of it as "a type of experimentation". I'm not sure exactly where this information came from maybe after the interview in conversation? Here is that clip.

I apologize for the negativity of this information. RIP KG.
Sounds like he was "toying" with his victim; inflicting cuts just for his own amusement, knowing fully well he had or was going to inflict fatal wounds as well. All to experience that he was in control.

Sick b------ on a fast track to hell. (NOT fast enough.)

Maybe. Or experimenting as Alivea seems to think. The difference being (for me) that the wounds would look different if inflicted while she was still alive. Struggle vs. no struggle (if deceased). Because I can't see a fighter in Kaylee laying there not fighting back. That's the big difference for me. After the fact. "Experimenting".

But the bigger question is... experimenting for what?!?!? His own amusement, or actually experimenting to make the 'next time' different/better/whatever it was for him. Thank GOODNESS he didn't and doesn't get a 'next time'.

Bye-bye Bryem.

Ok so I'm finally able to look at the exhibit list (big thanks to Shekkiec!) and something popped out to me here.

It says sheath showing STRAPS.
I was under the assumption that a kabar sheath had like one strap at the top to hold the handle in place, like this one I've seen referenced before
View attachment 620849
But wouldn't the description be STRAP?

So I've had a look and there are in fact kabar sheaths with more than one strap, such as this one (I've looked for an Amazon one as if I recall correctly, that's where it was purchased

Not a huge deal, it just stood out to me as I'm sure it's not just me who has been wondering how/if he had the knife somehow attached to him.

The sheath was specifically the USMC one, IIRC. That has only one strap at the top, but a couple of things. If a single strap is open and has some on one side and some on the other, some people refer to it as "straps". The second is that the belt loop that the snap strap is attached to is actually considered a "strap", so belt loop strap and snap strap = two straps. Those are two possibilities for the word "straps". Then there is always mistyping and spell check.... ;)

Wow, never caught that before. Can anyone explain to me what in the world she is talking about??

I was hoping to read explanations from different members on what Alivea was talking about without watching that video up above. But it looks like, to understand it better, I'm going to have to watch it. I really don't want to. 😔

I watched Alivea's original TikTok that they're discussing in the Entin clip.

I believe her main point was to dispel some rumors and/or misinterpretations of the information that's been released. Regarding the "experimental" injuries - investigators explained to her that injuries that would traditionally be "defensive" (cuts to hands etc.) weren't necessarily defensive in this situation. Understandably, she doesn't go into too much detail.

It sounds like, while the gag order and ultimate plea deal were frustrating for the family, Alivea was satisfied with her meeting with the investigators and the information they have, public or otherwise.

It's disgusting that the convicted murderer filed this motion. He's crying about himself, again, he has no remorse for what he did; and he will never tell anyone why he did the brutal murders (he doesnt even know the why) of four innocent victims. He destroyed many lives, he changed Xana, Madison, Kaylee, and Ethan lives forever. They will never be able to have their own families, build careers, live their lives, because of what this murderer did. No future. They are in loving spirit with their loved ones. jmo

Yet, he gets to continue the games... this should have been over w/plea deal.

He wants an opportunity to get out of prison (going to court) for some time because he cant take the heat in prison. If he ever does a book it will be all lies. My opinion, y'all.

New: Attorneys for #BryanKohberger have objected to their client being ordered to pay tens of thousands more in restitution to two #Idaho4 victims' families. A virtual hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. MT on Nov. 5 at the #Boise courthouse.

Attorneys for Bryan Kohberger, who is serving life in prison for killing four University of Idaho students, are protesting a request to tack on additional restitution paid by their client to cover expenses for two of the victims’ families and will make arguments in court in two weeks.

BK is destitute and the families will never see a dime from him, regardless, but he's just filing stuff to be filing it, to stay in the news and to torture the families more.

I have no problem with payment being deducted from his phone and store accounts.

I'm going out on an opinion limb here. In the past, there have been killers who did things just to see what it would be/look/sound/feel like. Death wasn't the end of their demented curiosity. That is how I interpreted it.

Jumping off your post. Does he just get a free attorney to file ridiculous things for the rest of his days? This is so wrong on so many levels.

The exciting thing about restitution is that it limits the amount an inmate can spend on commissary spending on things like extra food and specialty items. That is a true daily punishment for someone like BK who believes he needs and deserves a special diet. Family and friends end up paying though, as money deposited into his account will always come from the outside unless BK manages to get and keep a job. So I do feel for his family. It can take decades to pay off restitution. Usually there is a base monthly amount of any deposit that is not taken and applied to restitution — $50 per month in another state I am familiar with.

Sorry not sorry that I am often happy to hear when an entitled murderer receives a high restitution, because it hits inmates hard in their daily life. It is a reminder that they are in prison, not living free.

ETA: often restitution does not actually go to the victims of a crime. I’m not sure about BK’s particular orders.

I hope that this, if nothing else, is the turning point for his family.

His parents appear to have gone over and beyond all his life to help Bryan, but putting their hard-earned money into restitution or commissary for him would, I hope, be the time for them to say “no more.”

Hey folks,

Slightly off-topic admin's note: Websleuths is no longer splitting up long threads once they reach 50-ish pages, so I started to merge some of the longer threads into one single gargantuan thread. I started with this one (note that, as of this post, this thread has 166 pages), but one of the wrinkles I'm figuring out is what to do with the first-post in each thread.

You'll note that the first page now starts with the first-post from threads 114, 115, and 116. Weird things happen when I tried to delete those, so I'm leaving them there while I figure it out.

If anybody encounters weirdness from this thread, please DM me!

Is there a reason why WS is doing this? I like to see the actual number of replies vs. what number I am at to see how many new posts I have to read. This does not let me do that.

I don't quite understand how merging threads and / or allowing threads to remain together prevent you from seeing how many new posts there are to read?

Perhaps it would help if I explained my motivation. In old versions of the board, threads with lots of pages loaded more slowly. This is no longer an issue. Also, splitting threads means you could no longer reply to a post in a closed thread. You could quote it, but the links between post and reply are broken. This makes it harder to follow a conversation when it splits across threads, and harder for search engines to know how to index our content – and lowers our search-rankings.

Another user pointed out to me that, once I added all the threads from 115 and 116 to this thread, this thread suddenly got more "New" posts, which might have broken the number of new posts you had left to read.

If that is indeed what happened, I'm going to have to look into this further before merging any more threads! I didn't want this to be disruptive in any way, but I appreciate the feedback!
