I thought I was joking a long time ago when I said something about "Motion to seal documents regarding the Response of the motion to seal documents". But I guess not.......

I need anyone who's an attorney to explain why this is still the issue. TIA

Not an attorney, but these motions probably contain private information about witnesses, or protected information about Kohberger. If you're arguing about whether or not certain information is appropriate to release, you're probably referencing that information in the motions.

I believe 20% of the amount an inmate has "on his books" can be removed to pay restitution.
I am actually shocked it’s only that much… I figured that was part of his punishment. No hope for “fun money” and it would all go to the families.

Bryan Kohberger’s team has filed an objection to the state’s request for additional restitution. Kohberger’s attorneys argue that he cannot pay restitution now or in the future since he is serving four consecutive life sentences.

He doesn't know that he won't ever be able to pay. He could receive an inheritance, he could be the beneficiary of someone's life insurance policy...etc...
He should be denied this request!

Enough with him.

@Warwick7 you're exactly right. He's never getting out, but today is not the day to decide his earning potential. That argument falls flattest of all.

His commissary account is likely to be well padded, over time, he may be assigned work in prison, hammering out front license plates. Adjustments might be made over the next decades, affording inmates a cost of living penny.

Once again, AT moves smoke and mirrors. Earning wages isn't the only way to accrue assets. Screwy people will undoubtedly keep his account flush. Even if it takes all four lifetimes to pay up, it needs to ordered.

Think of all of the expenses the families front-loaded in preparation of a trial he knew he was never going to see, shutting it down at the 11th hour.

Pay up, Bryem.

Judge Hippler said the murderer had a "5 figure" amount in his accounts, I presume prior to confession. WTH?

He murdered them, he should have to pay for their funerals.

IMO, Bryan could acquire a sugar daddy in or out of prison. So his defense, nor anyone else can foretell the future, he made his bed.

Judge Hippler stated the five figure in his account was mostly family funds to communicate with him. I hope they wake up today and say enough. I guess we all need to get over BK. JMOO

Oh and this is ridiculous.

Brian Entin reporting on Lifetime actors disrespecting the victims (he is not showing those videos).

I watched the hearing.
The State admitted they erred in requesting reimbursement to the families for travel expenses by statute and they now are just requesting money for funeral expenses per the plea deal. It sounded like that amount all totalled would amount to less than $4,000.
Yet, BK’s attorneys still argue 1) he shouldn’t have to pay it even though it’s specifically in the plea agreement and 2) he is destititute though his prison account appears to have plenty of money.
What is wrong with these attorneys?! Their argument in my opinion amounts to nothing more than pouring salt on the families’ wounds. There is no reason for it. It is ugly and unnecessary.
If BK doesn’t want to pay, then he is reneging on the plea agreement he signed.
The judge should declare it null and void and set a date for trial.

Ok, I'm lost.... No I didn't watch it, but 4000.00 for funeral expenses? Is that per murder victim??

My Mom just prepaid for her own, it a little over 4500.00 for cremation.

In court right now, Latah Co Prosecutor Bill Thompson says Bryan Kohberger has been sent "significant money" during his incarceration. Kohberger's defense team is arguing that he shouldn't have to pay restitution beyond what has already been agreed to.

Defense says the money they know of came from family, before he pleaded guilty.

This restitution thing is seriously peeing me off. By definition restitution means to "recompense for injury or loss" and whilst zero amount of money, sentence or anything can recompense for the four families losses, it's the damn principle! I bet my bum that none of the families want a single penny of his poisonous proberger pot, BUT he should be FORCED to pay! As should every single person that is found guilty of taking another's life. Ugh.
Also, 4k for funeral expenses?! Even if they're talking 4k for one funeral cost, that is on the low ball side imo as someone who's family owns and runs a handful of independent funeral directors, be it in the UK but I doubt that there's much of a difference over the pond. It's just insulting. The fact he's even getting more court time to feed his incelly creepy ego is insulting.

Speaking of insulting, y'all see the hoohar over the lifetime bilge and the actors portraying many people involved in this case? Jeeeeez it's not pleasant. I won't go into detail in case it's not allowed, but some seriously distasteful choices were made by some of the films actors and Sissy Goncalves is on the war path!
