Also its not as exact as people assume. If one tower is "overloaded" the ping will go to the next nearest one. At least some years ago thats how it was.

A woman was actually charged with murder based on cell tower pings, took a plea, just for DNA evidence to show she was likely not the killer.

It is not a reliable science in the slightest.

Well Ramsland, the professor BK had, she used her nearly 20yr of communication with Dennis as part of her courses and in the HULU documentary she is featured in about Dennis who was BTK, and wouldn't surprise me if he got obsessed with him, heck even could of asked to speak to him with Ramsland. I feel he probably wasn’t off the rails at that point so KR likely wouldn’t have seen any signs. It seems to me his tipping point came after he left PA - some things were likely sprouting already but the gist of it came to a head after he went out west.

I can vouch for the density of cell towers and cameras EVERYWHERE in the five boroughs. The city just put ANOTHER tower right across the street from my high-rise.

We know RH was confirmed as the killer due to the pizza box DNA, and LE tracked him down near his place of business. I feel certain that he was scrutinized on camera and through his cell, since they pounced on him in the street.

In any event, there were enough cell phone pings around Moscow to do the job of catching BK near the house on his earlier expeditions.

I mean Bundy murdered at least 30 people and escape custody twice. That's why he was given the death penalty. Unless BK has more victims on his murder list of people he killed, that's why they don't always go for the death penalty unless you've got a high body count.

This is simply untrue.

Bundy received the death penalty for killing two women in the Chi Omega sorority house and killing Kimberly Leach, a twelve year old, in Florida.

Three people, over two events.

He was not charged cumulatively for all the crimes he was suspected of across the United States.

I've read that one of the murderer's prof's (was it Bolger, or Dr. Ramsland, or ?) affiliated w him in his Masters program said in her many yrs of teaching that he was the only student for whom she gave a positive recco for a Doctoral program.

What is the significance, if any? Does it show he was cream of the crop? Or not?

IF he was the only student completing his CJ Masters who was applying for Doc. programs, then prof was recco'ing 1 of 1, or endorsing 100% of those students seeking to continue edu, and who also asked for her recco.

Not gonna chase DeSales CJ Masters degree numbers to try to prove a point, because I doubt that I could nail figures for students who tried to pursue Doc. programs.

Just saying, imo it's difficult to determine significance of his prof's recco and whether it indicated he was a genius, stellar, or merely above average student.
AFAIK we haven't seen the prof's actual recco.

GOOD! He wants a legacy, he wants us to forget the victim, only remember him. It's the narcissism in him that gets off on people remembering him, only talking about him, talking about his killings, the details of his murders, etc... that's why serial killers love giving interviews, like having memoirs, love when they have fans who writing them while in prison. They enjoy that kind of influence, power, and control over society, because then they get to brag in prison about it to others to earn cred so they can be feared. That's why Charles Manson was notorious for doing this, did it to John Douglas of the FBI when he went to California to talk to him. You see this played out in Netflix's "Mind Hunter".

You may have noticed, very many posters here, have stopped referring to the killer, IODC #163214, by name, or even intials. The victims will never be forgotten here, but many of us are already well on the way to forgetting what's his name. JMO

She is definitely buttering him up in hopes of gaining access to him imo. So many people have said BK is creepy. Even if she didn’t peg him as a mass murderer, he also wasn’t “really good at passing as normal”. I wonder if we will ever hear details on the complaints from female students that got him kicked out of his high school law enforcement program?

That makes me happy to hear. The murderer doesn't have the same odds against maximum level convicts as he did with Maddie, Kaylee, Xana and Ethan. Innocent, young, sleeping (mostly) adults never expecting any violence invading their home.

Let him pull his extemporaneous speaking expertise "I know everything, you know nothing" crap on these guys and I'd say the murderer would end up on the receiving end of a good smackdown. Works for me.

He's in PC 23 hours per day, for how long or forever, I do not know. I wonder how that will affect him? Who will be there to listen to him brag about how smart, gifted and superior he is?

Maybe I’m just mean, but I fail to appreciate whatever expertise she allegedly has.

If she’s an expert on noticing the signs of a predator but she didn’t recognize it in BK, then of what value is she beyond the classroom lecture hall?

We ALL could recognize his pathology post-murder. She would have been of enormous value if she’d figured him out PRIOR to the murders.

She thought she was focusing on a diamond, but he was just cubic zirconia. She apparently couldn’t distinguish between the two any more than we could.

IMO of course, but I think her expertise is in authoring books, making money and gaining some fame out of these gruesome tragedies.

Having taught BK is a bonanza for her, I fear.

Most of these people were probably looking for jobs in law enforcement or may have already been in police departments, looking to move up in a department or gain specific knowledge. In my institution's undergrad criminal justice programs, most of the students plan go on to law degrees rather than academic PhDs. That might be due to our faculty having a high number of federal agents, judges, and active police officials, rather than researchers, so our grads go into law school or policing or forensic analysis. I'm thinking one reason his advisor (not KR) didn't recommend many for PhD study is that most people didn't go the academic route. But I can't say that for sure. MOO.
