GUILTY PLEA DEAL ACCEPTED - 4 Univ of Idaho Students Murdered, Bryan Kohberger Arrested, Moscow, Nov 2022 #114

I don't believe the DDD was carrying the bag around, or was she? I think she was walking around trying to locate the house, and then would take the food out of the insulated hot bag to the porch once she found the address. That's how I'd do it. I wouldn't be carrying the order around when I had no idea where I was delivering it to.
Good question.

I don't think it's a guarantee that every DDD bothers running around with an insulated hot bag though.

The best ones would; but living in Manhattan, I find it's catch as catch can whether or not they do; and whether the food arrives piping hot or a sort of lukewarm.

It was below freezing at 4 am on the night of their murders, 28 degrees:

IMO, anyone in the house even if well heated would keep their shoes, socks, or slippers on, and anyone answering the door or stepping outside would also be well shod.

So it makes sense to me that clomping up and down the stairs was heard that night and the stray shoe/boot was where it was in the living room having been recently taken off from being outside/going to the door/keeping their feet warm.
I agree, and was thinking it (the donning of boots) all depends upon how Xana felt about having cold feet as well; and isn't so much dependent upon whether or not she was assembling what outside eyes would see as a coherent complete outfit.

Problem is....she was murdered immediately afterwards....and was not wearing any pants when she was found.

IMHO, she wasn't traipsing outside or around the house in a sweatshirt, thong underwear, and Doc Martens.

Also IMHO, the shoes are a red herring. Esp when there are much simpler explanations, IMO.
Yes a red herring. It comes down to occam's razor. Ah yes....the simplest explanation is usually the most likely the right explanation.

The question for me is, if DM heard Doc Martens on the stairs and they were on KG or XK's feet, how did the felon manage not to make a sound, including as he came down the steps hurriedly (he would have heard DM call out to Kaylee)? We KNOW he went up, we know he came down, probably quickly.

DM calls out to Kaylee. Meanwhile XK is awake, maybe hears DM and the same sounds from upstairs, and turns toward the stairs and answers DM, "there's someone here" and in moments the felon tears down the stairs and overtakes XK outside her door. It's okay, I'm here to help. She cries, whimpers outside the bathroom door as he attempts to gain control of her.

Both KG and XK were in their pajamas so, while it could have been one of them on the stairs, I think the simplest explanation is that it was the felon, and he didn't put great care into being silent at that point.

Wow, what an emotional, unimaginable, senseless crime. Perpetrated by this murderer hiding in the shadows. We know he drove past the 1122 King St. on 23 occasions from August until the murders. This wasn't just a random act on random people, it was a well thought out, timed and planned event. Thank goodness he wasn't smart enough to pull it off perfectly.

I believe he specifically targeted these young women in that house, who represented everything he hated about women in general and his own pathetic life. Ethan just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. He followed one, two or maybe all of them on social media at some point where they all had a large, open online presence. Maybe even before he actually arrived at WSU.

I think his main target was Kaylee (destroying her very identity - facial features left almost unrecognizable 😢). He committed the act that night because he had to. Kaylee was back in town for essentially the last long weekend before graduation, which he would have known by following her SM accounts.

I also think it's likely that he actually was behind the Papa Rodgers account, no proof, JMO. Even if LE couldn't/didn't definitively link him to it, he was well versed enough in computer technology to erase the digital trail. We know through the documents released that he used software to do that.

He made the Plea deal because he knew the State had a rock solid winning case. He was beaten after all the Motions and rulings against the Defense in the last hearings. He wasn't sorry or remorseful, he didn't care about his family, it was simply a matter of self preservation.

I hope prison serves him exactly the Karma he deserves.

@BrianEntin

Judge says she will decide at a later date how to handle what Bryan Kohberger crime scene photos/videos can be released. Hearing just ended. No official decision.A temporary restraining order prohibiting images from inside victims bedrooms remains.

What does this mean for already released photographs? The ones already in circulation. Contempt of court? Civil liability? No way to put the internet genie back in the bottle.

As much as I/we want to understand what happened, it's sad that families have this added task of toiling to keep sensitive evidence sealed.

As the reports are emerging...

I'm beginning to think
that the attack was "one & only".

It seemed to be the perp's "special project" to experience emotions felt by murderers.
His curiosity & obsession + the survey.
(He suffers from OCD)

There are 2 clues:
- talks with others about such emotions
(link above sent by me)
- his opinion voiced during a class that the murders would not be repeated by a perp.
(During discussion about the murders at University)

Both clues were reported by MSM and the links were sent by me to the threads.

GH found a satellite image in July, 2022 of a white vehicle parked at the very area a tipster reported having seen a white vehicle on 11/13/2022. He's not saying it's the same vehicle but it's pointing out the interesting coincidence.

Exactly!!!
This is 7 days after that pool party.

We already know before he ever left Pennsylvania he was planning on killing someone.

Now look at this:

July 9 BK was invited to an afternoon pool party in nearby Moscow, Idaho, according to three witnesses who met him there.
(Did he follow someone home?)

Starting on July 9, 2022 to November 7th, between 10 pm and 4am -- he 23 separate times, was within 100 meters of the house.

And now it just happens 7 days after the pool party a white vehicle is under that tree. A tree out in the middle of no where.
Did he dig his whole that day? 🥴

And what were they to think? It was quite again, and they fell asleep.
RSBM

Your comment made me think of how, when I was a child and I heard a sound in the night and didn't know what it was, I would literally gaslight myself into believing that I hadn't heard anything. I wouldn't be at all surprised if their minds were doing something similar (but on a much larger scale) at that moment, pushing away the scary and confusing things that had just happened for just long enough until they'd had some rest and could start to actually process it all

Perhaps it was a favorite place. To star gaze. His route back to Pullman 23+ times. A little bit like an inspiration point. The night cap for a solo player who had a rich (sick?) fantasy life (hello, internet searches), incapable of real relationships with real women.

After 23 latenight trips to Moscow, maybe hee wasn't interested in going straight home. Must have been a bear for him to have to wait until 5 or 6 am to call Mother.

Honestly. The only thing missing here is the motel.

I realize we're all just speculating but Hughes' sighting really does feel right. Fits everything we've learned about his habits

Jul 16 was also a Saturday. (At weekends he's at his most isolated - no classes - as well as late night stalking opportunities the Friday night before as @Warwick7 points out. )

By July 16th he'd be on reconaissance. ( Classes don't start til mid August but he's discussing knives as early as Jun 29th, his first night in Pullman)
He's an obsessive planner too.( Scoping out potential remote disposal spots)
Planning and fantasy overlap for him too. ( Gets off on it)
He also feels most comfortable solitary, in nature and that car makes him feel powerful.

Betting that Google Maps has captured a few more sightings

Agreed. But this whole house was their home.

Murphy had free rein.

IMO nobody had shoes on.

Roommates were talking. DM. Possibly KG. XK.

Murphy would have alerted to the DDD for sure (IMO) and the food, if he was used to people food.

XK could have gone up the steps with Murphy and looked out a window from there.

But I think you're right, the DDD was going by memory, by and large quite accurate but getting a window wrong by one floor, totally reasonable.

Chilling now close she came to a mass murderer without even knowing it. We are NEVER as safe as we think we are.

Armed? Loaded gun under the pillow? Mace in your actual hand? Useless if an armed intruder is atop you before you can even awaken. Useless if it's the one night you forgot to lock the door. Useless in the face of an ambush.

I find it beyond repulsive that the inmate has the nerve to whine about his sleeping conditions. What about MM, KG, XK, EC (an invited guest), DM, BF and even Murphy's right to go to bed at night in their own beds in their own home and wake up in the morning, at whatever time suits them.

He earned his life sentences. Prison isn't posh. I don't care if he has to sleep with the lights on.

He made the dark scarier for all of us.

JMO
I think the inmate's reaction to prison is not at all surprising and one reason why I had no qualms about the DP being off the table. He will have a profoundly miserable life in prison.

I dunno. I've been teaching college kids for years. I've seen them wearing crocs outside in deep snow, kids wearing shorts when it's zero out, girls wearing spaghetti straps tops...the surviving roommate might know who always wore socks and/or shoes.
