I was shocked when I heard this. I never thought he would say he did it. I have upmost respect and understand the anger of the families, but the more I think about it, this was actually the best result and disagree with public outrage statements. First comes complete relief that those poor surviving roommates didn't have to withstand additional trauma of having to walk into that courtroom with him and then have that defense attorney grill them to try to pretend that they had something to do with the murders.
Social media has created an echo chamber for conspiracy theorists. Will any of the probergers ever come up with an apology to the families and to the surviving roommates for the pain that they have caused them? As we have seen in trials time again, and particularly the most recent trials, jurors lie to get on a jury. Even though any rational person could see how guilty he is, you just never know that some sympathizer can lie their way on to vote not guilty. The whole dog and pony show that defense Attorneys do with telling jurors that they can't believe the DNA because it was a corrupted process, blah blah, just for starters.
And even if you can get a conviction, you don't know that people again will lie their way on to say that they can give the death penalty, but then vote not to. Look at what happened in the Parkland shooting. How much more brutal can you get than that? And the woman refused to vote for the death penalty. Social media has exposed just how many conspiracy theorists there are out there in so many ways. There is no such thing as a slam dunk case anymore. And with Casey Anthony and OJ, there never was such a thing.
As much as I sympathize with the families, SG out there maligning the prosecution who worked endlessly, tirelessly all these years is just not a good look. I imagine they well knew what SG and his family would say, and maybe made only the most minimal of attempts to contact them. I truly hope, though, that they can work into the plea deal that he will give details to someone, someway. I also hope that the prosecution or through them can release all of the evidence that they had that we have not known all this time to give us a fuller picture as to exactly what happened in there. RIP to those beautiful kids and prayers that every day those surviving roommates find the strength to enjoy the rest of their lives.
