Why the rush to get him to court to plea guilty?
It doesn’t seem fair to the families to have such little time to prepare impact statements.
Wednesday's appearance is to change his plea to GUILTY. I'm not mistaken, sentencing will occur at a later date, at efficiency time victim impact statements will be presented.

AT's sole goal was to keep him off the DP, it never came accross she was fighting to prove his innocence but to keep him alive and she has.
Not exactly. AT attempted to prove his innocence when she sought to point fingers at four other people...

My opinion, the case against him was very solid, especially considering the gag order and we don't know the bulk of it. But the IGG is an issue someone is going to take to the higher courts for 4th amendment and if I were the prosecution that would worry me. I'm glad it's not going to be this case that takes it. I think they did the right thing.
JMO
I disagree about the IGG. I think it's solid, but it's a moot point now since he's admitting guilt. They found the right guy. It WAS his DNA on the knife sheath. It was his sheath.

Wait so does this mean we'll never get any answers?
I really wanted to know, why that house, why those victims, how long had he planned this for... I was hoping at least some of that would be answered at trial.
Why that house is because he chose those victims. Contrary to what's been reported, he had actually been stalking the girls in the upper bedroom Kaylee and Maddie.

I don't agree. Getting a guilty admission from the killer's own mouth is far preferable to making it the decision of some poor jury. Resolves it all for good - no more uncertainty, no more conspiracy theories. Saves the limited resources of the justice system to apply to other cases. If he ever was executed, it would be so many decades from now, people will have forgotten all about it.

JMO

and think of all the appeals-- so many years go on and finally, maybe 20 years later the perp is finally executed. It is too bad SG is upset about the plea deal but IMO it really is for the best. There is no such thing as a slam dunk- the probability is that BK would have been found guilty- but you never know for sure and then there is the issue of the death penalty-- not a given either. And think about the horror of the trial with photos the jury would have to see day after day and the families having to relive the horror of that horrific night. I admit to being shocked though that BK would admit guilt----- unless he takes an Alford plea where he does not admit guilt

Now that BK has pleaded guilty, and confirmed he is the killer, think about that bathroom selfie he took right after committing the crime.
That smug smile on his face.

This psycho must be permanently removed from society. He is extremely dangerous and would have killed again.

I think the prosecuter knows that too.
And the families will have their day in court when sentencing is read. There will be victim impact statements. And judge Hippler will have a few words to say to Bryan too.

It’s going to be brutal.

Woke up to him reaching a plea deal. I would never have expected to him pleading guilty.

Wow what a turn of events to wake up to! Initially I was quite shocked at this plea but after thinking on it, it's not really that surprising given last week's rulings.

Do I think it's another game play? In part. It certainly takes DP off the table now (although as many discussions have reiterated, how likely is it that he would have actually reached DP point). I do wonder if there's an element of secrecy which BK relishes. He's always been very stoic- even his "alibi" was shrouded in mystery. Now he gets to plead guilty to a crime for which it was looking like he would be found guilty but still gets to control some of the narrative. He doesn't have to give details on the how, whys or why not. He can create his own infamy through the secrecy of his deeds

Yes. This feels alot like control for me. I really feel for the family's. What a rollercoaster. I hope they take the time to process this. I can totally see why they would be so upset. BK closed the doors.

Waking up to this... I'm now running so late this morning 😭
Bloody heck. Wasn't expecting him to cop a plea this late in the race, however, to me it's just another thing confirming what an egotistical power driven ghoul he is. There's no road left for the car that AT's driving so he decides to get into the driver's seat himself and drive straight off the cliff. He's sat there in complete silence throughout two years of court appearances watching his defense attorney flap and flap trying every which way to save him, he's watched the state lay out all their case and evidence, whilst also getting the satisfaction of knowing the pain that the victims families are going through and then at the final hour he's like nah, I'm in control now. I'm in the driver's seat. It's all about control.
I don't think he gave a toss about the death penalty as such, he doesn't care about LWOP either, he cares about being as in control as he can be and to me this proves it.

I just hope that Judge H puts a rock solid Son of Sam in place to derail any chance he has in future of profiting (though tbh he will still want the books etc...) and I truly hope this plea comes with an allocution as part of it. Heartbreaking for the families and I hope they get the answers they need.

Let the temu Bundy fan boy ghoul face rot in prison knowing that ultimately his power play meant f all and we will always remember them 4 kids names before we remember his.

I agree with most of what you wrote except for one thing: I think he very much cares about the Death Penalty. Most murderers are cowards when it comes to them facing death. They just want to play God with others lives and hold the power. Casey Anthony came out against the Death Penalty- because she was facing it!

Oh I thoroughly agree that they're cowards. In this bog faces case though I think he likely wasn't bothered as he knew it wouldn't get that far. Either AT would pull something out of her bum and get it off the table, or he, as he has, would take the steering wheel and power steer it off the table himself. On top of that, he will now feel like he's got his place on the notorious "hall of fame" list like his peers, because this was a DP case.

The only list he's on for me is the 'you thought you were big and clever but you're ten a penny' list

I agree- he gave his victims the death penalty but he does not want to die

Agreed.

At least there's no risk any longer of a not guilty verdict, I never felt there was much anyway, but you just... honestly, you never know, especially with a DP case. Could you imagine this guy walking free??

Better safe than sorry. I'm kind of glad the P did this.

I think that BK/Defense has managed to delay the trial from happening - thus, keeping BK in the local jail and out of prison for nearly 3 years. They used every tactic to continue delaying the trial. The trial would bring out a lot of really bad stuff about BK that we don't know yet. So, when his lawyer's request for a continuance was not granted, they had reached the end of the line. The trial was going to happen in just a few weeks. So, BK would end up going to prison. The question was did he want to risk being sentenced to death and have to live the prison life of being on death row, or did he want to be in "regular" prison (for lack of a better word)? Either way, he's going to prison, so what would be a better option for him?

As far as what some folks have said that prisoners will treat him well for his legal knowledge, I don't think that will happen. I think that he will either be killed in prison or he will kill himself.

"Bryan Kohberger plea deal
sparks wave of reaction online.

Entin, on X Monday:
'My personal feeling is from the beginning Idaho has not wanted to deal with this case.
From University of Idaho taking ownership of the house and tearing it down.
To the initial judge passing the case on.
To the gag order and constant annoyance with any attention the case gets'."
