Nice idea, but why them and not any of the other thousands of missing and/or murdered children and teens? Are these politicians just trying to gain favor with the public?

Personally, I think it is because they are big news and on everyone's minds right now, and they were,in a way, victims of the system.By that I mean JAG should have been behind bars and/or monitored, but the CA system failed women. IMO, it is a way to honor them in the immediate and since we can't name roads after everyone of the precious people that were either attacked or worse by RSO's and other criminals, it is a place to start.

I'm really against naming roads after people who have been murdered. Some of us don't want to continually drive down the street of the-person-who-was-tortured-and-killed.
