About Portia renting a flat in Finchley -- it's not a cheap area, even though it's not in central London. If she could afford to rent a flat there on her own, she had access to money. London is searingly expensive now even for flatshares.

To me this suggests that she knew her landlord and saw him regularly.

I have rented 'officially' in London for decades, very rarely met any of my landlords or ladies. The more expensive the property, the less likely you are to ever meet the owner. They have property manager, letting agents to do all that for them.

It could therefore be that Portia has a casual arrangement , or an unusual set up, rather than your traditional rental. IMO.

Her Instagram stories also shows her hanging out in Hyde Park with a friend on a previous occasion. So it's possible it was just a hangout rather than an event. It's a fairly central meeting point and a nice/cheap place to go for a walk, even in winter. Nr oxford st if you like shopping.

We at least know she has previously hung out there, this seems more likely to me than it being some kind of event in the park in February. But JMO.

ETA: she was last seen at 8.45pm in Hyde Park?

Hyde Park closes at dusk, I believe.

That seems odd?

I will try to check the weather on that day.

On February 21, between 18.00 and 21.00 hrs , the temperature for Central London was 13-12C, ( 55F to 53F ) wind from the south at 4 mph.

These are very good points.

Could be a friend of her family or something too. Or she was a lodger and lived with her landlord but surely that would be reported as her "renting a room" rather than renting a flat?

Could be a wealthy married bloke wanting a convenient pied a terre to stash his mistress as well (that is not even uncommon).

I thought the "always doing something big" is interesting too. I thought it was because PVK is an ambitious young woman who ran for local office and had some fairly top flight PA jobs, and maybe it is that -- but when you dig deeper and find she was looking for any sort of work on LinkedIn and potentially up for anything, being an intern trying to flog tickets to parties etc, that gives you a different impression of perhaps needing money and getting involved in other people's schemes somehow.

Yes and she doesn’t appear to have a legitimate occupation. Lives alone in a London flat with a party lifestyle which wouldn’t be cheap. As always just my own musings.

Which makes me wonder whether she was a high-class (or at least expensive) sex worker. Is that along the lines of your own "musings"?

There were quite a few articles about her at the end of March, including in the Daily Mail and Telegraph, when her brother made a push to get the story out but since then no follow up. However, she has not turned up & is still missing -- I am surmising that because her profile is still up on Missing People and they remove people who have been found (dead or safe and well) from their site.

I don't think she's on holiday, partly because most of her (quite sporadic) Instagram posts are from her holidays. She doesn't seem to update much in between, so it would be out of character for her to be in a glamorous/holiday destination and not be taking the opportunity to update her socials.

Haven't yet managed to identify if she has a second insta.

Yes, I agree -- I can't recall that it is open at night in the sense of open as a place to go and hang out, and it would seem quite a strange place to hang out after dark on a cold February evening for a group of rather glamourous party girls. It would not seem safe to me as a place to go. Some parks don't close Hampstead Heath is open all night, but there are no lights and you'd be a bit reckless to go walking there after dark.

So that made me wonder if something changed and now you can walk there at night. Or maybe I am misunderstanding the meaning here. Maybe one gate is open? Like you, I thought that it was closed during the hours of darkness. Even if it is open, or one gate is, again, I'm surprised that Portia and her friends, who judging from their Instas like China White's style parties and chi chi restaurants, would go and hang around there. That's why I wondered if "Hyde Park" was what her friends said to avoid having to admit they were somewhere else close by for other reasons.

And her phone and bank cards were not used after 3rd of March. Well, where and how were they being used during that week and a half? Surely, that’s a big clue.

JMO, but I think they are using Hyde Park to refer to a neighbourhood, not to mean the actual park. In the same way you might say someone was last seen in Covent Garden, but not mean the actual Covent Garden market, but the general vicinity/tube station.

Yes, if you want to promote parties you would need a very large following of people who want to go to parties in London. She really didn't although her Insta is a thirst trap.

The company she was doing the promoting for offer that type of promotion work to people probably for a small commission or fee and I strongly get the impression that Portia was trying to get whatever casual work she could find. Her LinkedIn page has her email and phone number listed for potential gig employers and a very long list of areas she could accept work in. I guess this work was just one thing she was trying.
