Matthias Schmelz, 59, is a german businessman who has been under investigation for organizing and engaging in orgies with underage girls in Cascais (fairly close to Lisbon).

He is suspected of organizing, at his home, almost daily, orgies with underage girls, mostly between the ages of 16 and 17, the youngest being 14 . He contacted the girls via WhatsApp. Each girl would be paid around 500€ for everytime they would participate in the orgies.

Schmelz would even pick up the teenage girls from school. The victims are upper and upper middle class girls that live in Lisbon and Cascais.

He hasn't been arrested yet, but he has been investigated and has been under surveilance for months. One of the victims' mother contacted Law Enforcement after finding out that her daughter was contacted to participate in one of those orgies.

His house was robbed in March, while he was abroad. A 18-year-old brazilian girl was staying at the house and invited some friends to a party. At around 11 PM, the party goers were held hostage during an armed robery organized buy another 18-year-old girl. The Police was called to the home and arrests were made.

Probably not. Schmelz has tons of money but he got it from selling vacuum cleaners, I don't how rich he actually is. He's rich enough to live where he lives, to drive expensive cars and to give 500€ to teenage girls for sex. I don't think he's Epstein level of rich and powerful.
