Potential Cancer Causing Ingredient in Personal Care Products

The ingredient is Paradioxane - it especially is recommended that children, with developing brains, not be exposed to such products. Evidently there's a loophole that lets some of these products through.

I thought this article was interesting as it gives a good site where you can look up products you buy and see how they're rated for safety.

I looked up Lubriderm, a common skin lotion, and it was rated "moderate" for exposure; not really great IMO.

I have always wondered about all the things that our bodies absorb via personal care products. We limit it here as much as possible, but one does need to shower etc. I'm not all that into making my own natural products.

Hmm. I was surprised at the results of baby wipes and desitin diaper rash cream. I didn't realize there were so many ingredients in products we put on our bodies that are not reviewed by the FDA.

I just entered neutrogena and all their products seem to be low!

Haven't checked out the link yet, but long ago someone told me that you shouldn't apply deodorant or anti-perspirant for as long as possible after shaving your underarms, because the product and all it's cancer-causing agents and chemicals seep into tenny tiny holes on the skins surface that comes with shaving and can cause cancer.

Don't know if it's true or not, but deodorant is always the last thing to do before I leave in the morning & as long as possible from the time I'm done shaving the pits.
