BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. — A Columbus woman tried to get protection from her husband months, even days, before her family says he killed her before killing himself. A Bartholomew County judge denied her request for a protective order on Dec. 9; they both died on Dec. 19.

How awful, and with the children in the house. My heart aches for this sad, sad situation.
Now the rest of the family has to deal with the surviving children who are both old enuff to remember the event for the rest of their lives -- at least the sounds if not the actual event itself.
So the Court could find nothing to do -- what type of evidence or explanation is required to get a protective order?

Below and in the link is the text for what it takes to get a P.O. in Indiana, including a definition of what D.V. is in Indiana. Seems to me the wife/mom met the requirements, but IANAL.
