A two-day auction at New York's Hard Rock Cafe saw some amazing prices paid for celebrity memorabilia.

Michael Jackson's black and gold-trimmed military jacket soared above the expected maximum of $20,000, fetching $$83,750 instead. Elvis Presley's tour bus - which he paid $25,000 for, used, in the 70s and deeply worried the fellow musician selling it to him when he test drove it into a cornfield - fetched $268,000.

By far the highest price though, was paid for a guitar once borrowed - but apparently not even owned by - George Harrison, who was snapped playing it alongside the rest of the Beatles, at the Cavern Club in Liverpool in the early 60s. It sold for the astounding price of $500,000.
