Question About Editing/Deleting Posts

I have noticed that many of the posts I have made on a thread I started in the Jury Room, that where there is typically the ellipses (3 dots) with the down arrow to edit or delete a post, is not available to me when they previously were there. Can anyone explain to me why this is happening? Thank you in advance!

Members only have a short amount of time within which they can edit or delete their posts. The feature is built into the software and we don't know the precise amount of time that is allotted.

The feature is necessary because with thousands of members and millions of original posts and responses, we can't have members changing their mind hours or days after their initial post.
