America Online said it will give away almost $100,000 and a Hummer sport-utility vehicle seized from a man who flooded AOL mailboxes with unwanted e-mail, or spam.

AOL's Spammer's Gold Sweepstakes starts today. Users of the service have a chance to win $1,000 each day through Aug. 19, AOL said in a statement. The grand prize is the "fully loaded" SUV and about $85,000 in gold bars and cash, the company said.

The property was seized from an unidentified 19-year-old New Hampshire man who belonged to a ring that operated dozens of computers, AOL said. AOL users helped identify the man last year and he was sued under the 2003 Can-Spam Act, AOL, a unit of Time Warner Inc., said on its Web site.

That's nice, but it might have been more "eco-friendly" to give a vehicle that didn't suck so much gas!!!

No worries Jeana, give it a couple more weeks and more than likely whoever wins won't be able to fill it with gas prices soaring.
