Details of Disappearance​

Mazzella's family members last saw him at his apartment in the 100 block of Oak Street in Westerly, Rhode Island at approximately 9:00 a.m. on February 7, 1999. He has never been heard from again. All of Mazzella's personal belongings were located inside his residence and his vehicle was parked outside his apartment. There were no other signs of him at the scene. His case remains unsolved.

Circumstances of Disappearance​

Frank was last seen at approximately 09:00 at his residence in the vicinity of the 100 block of Oak Street in Westerly, RI. His vehicle was later located in his driveway and all belongings were also located. One of two pistols he was said to have owned was also missing.

Family members alerted police after he failed to pick up his son from school. Police and private investigators scoured two states - even exploring the local quarries - without turning up a single trace of Mazzella.

Police: Human remains found near shore at Watch Hill

WESTERLY — Police said human remains were found Wednesday morning near the shore in Watch Hill.

Human remains (possibly a human leg bone) was found around Everett Ave in Westerly this morning.

Frank was last seen at his residence in the vicinity of the 100 block of Oak St. in Westerly. This is only about 12 minutes from his house.

It’s possible this could be Frank or maybe even Kevin Belknap missing from the same area. Cross posted as a reminder to follow up.

Police: Possible human remains found in Westerly

Police said officers were called to Everett Avenue around 9:30 a.m. after what appeared to be a human leg bone was found.
