The actor best known for playing Sam the Butcher on "The Brady Bunch" has died.

Allan Melvin's wife says he died of cancer at his home in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles. He was 84.

The headline was "Brady Bunch Actor Dies," and I was worried it was one of the boys. Not that I'm glad Allan Melvin died, I just wasn't up to hearing it was Bobby...

I read this on aol. I feel old as so many of the actors/actresses that were in my favorite shows are passing away.

I know what you're saying. It seems that every other day we are learning of the passing of one or even two of our beloved actors from the past.

To me, it seemed like in those shows or movies we really felt close to the characters, even if they weren't the "stars" of the show.
