Australia Samantha Murphy, 51, last seen leaving her property to go for a run in the Canadian State Forest, Ballarat, 4 Feb 2024 *Arrest* #13

If his vehicle was used to kill her, or any other vehicle there would be DNA of her around under the front bumper

Including underneath the doors, edges, rear door, etc If she was dragged inside

Will be very interesting when we know more

A road reconstructionist , or traffic collision reconstructionist , analyzes the scene of any incident, either accident or deliberate , that involves a motor driven conveyance, be it motorbike, scooter, roller skates, quadbike, golf cart, car , ute, etc to determine how it occurred.
Yes, what I said their primarily investigate only accidents, and factors of vehicle collisions.

what I said was, which was not what you said, they investigate non accidents, too. They are not confined to investigating accidents, they investigate deliberate incidents where people are run down , or any crime that involves a motor driven vehicle, such as transporting a body, ( interfering with a corpse) or using a motor driven artifact to shift a corpse from one place to another, or using a vehicle to store a victim's body, .

If it involves a motor driven artifact, these blokes investigate it, they are not confined to your common or garden road accident.

Their primary focus is to analyze the mechanics of a collision using scientific methods to determine the cause of the accident and contributing factors.

No it isnt. Their primary focus is to analyze any suspected crime in which a motor driven vehicle is involved. Accident, non accident, collision, non collision, Narrowing down their job is pointless, really.

They investigate single driver incidents where people in suicide mode run themselves into a tree, just one example of their primary focus that is not confined to an accident, but a deliberate action by the driver.

No, a traffic collision reconstruction primarily investigates incidents that are considered "accidents," meaning unexpected and unintentional collisions between vehicles, and typically does not investigate non-accident situations like intentional crashes or deliberate vehicle damage
Their focus is on analyzing the mechanics of a collision to determine the cause and contributing factors of an accident.

You are mistaken. They investigate to find OUT if it was accidental or non accidental, that's their job. And their focus. And that's the end of the matter!!

Detective Sergeant Robert Hay was the expert who carried out the examination of the 2020 crash scene on the Eastern Freeway, in which four police officers were tragically killed by truck driver Mohinder Singh.
This was a terrible thing that happened that had so many unpredictable outcomes, Pusey, Victoria's most hated man being one of them. . At first it was thought it was an accident, then Mohinder was drug tested, found he was a high as a kite and had been driving for 18 hours straight and he was bought up before the magistrate on extremely reckless driving charges, and sentenced accordingly.

Pusey, who got all hot under the collar and up in arms because he was delayed in his trip to pick up his Taco's from Taco Bills, felt inclined to go and video clip the dying police officers who were struck by Mohinder as they were checking another incident, and then POSTING THOSE VIDS ...

He was charged with public indecency and convicted as well..

Could this have something to do with the police appealing for info about “a damaged vehicle or property”?
Has the accused’s vehicle collided with and damaged someone’s property (vehicle, fence, shed, equipment etc)?

23/02/2024
“I encourage anyone who does have information that could be relevant to this investigation – whether that’s a person or vehicle seen in the area on that day, something unusual such as a damaged vehicle or property – to please come forward and speak to police or provide the information via Crime Stoppers,” he said.

Certainly could! Let's face it , he would be in a tearing hurry at that point, a bit careless, a bit jittery...

All interesting, but didn't the police keep alluding to it not being a death caused by a vehicle?

What Shane Patton said was that the police believed the murder was “a deliberate act” and not a hit and run".

However, he did not confirm whether police believed a car or drugs and alcohol had been involved. “I'm not going to speculate on any other details about the death other than it was deliberate. He's been charged with murder, so by its definition, we're saying this was a deliberate act."

I’d say they have analysed the vehicle's data recorders to gather info on factors such as the cars location, movements, timeframes, speed, braking, skidding, damage etc to compare it with evidence and debris from the crime scene/s and the vehicle itself, and to provide insight into driver behaviour including impairment, and to corroborate or refute witness testimony and any alibi. All of that and more.

I think the “not a hit and run” clue threw us all a curve ball. Did he deliberately chase Sam down in his car as evidenced in the biometric data from her phone or watch which may have shown her walking or jogging steadily before it rapidly and erratically accelerated with her breath and heart rates suddenly spiking and then suddenly stopping altogether? Nonetheless, the ute has always appeared to be very significant.
