CRIME HUNTER: Fresh lead in case of missing Tennessee girl, 13 | Toronto Sun
Cops are still trying to solve the decades old murder of Samuel Goldman.
''WHO KILLED SAMUEL GOLDMAN?
No one at the Mountain View Hotel and Bar nestled in the quiet Adirondack town of Minerva had seen regular Samuel Goldman for a couple days.
A bachelor, Goldman lived alone and spent a lot of his spare time at the watering hole. But bar staff became concerned when he didn’t make an appearance
On March 31, 1983, employees performed a welfare check where they discovered Goldman shot to death.
Cops determined he had been shot twice with a Smith & Wesson .22 calibre revolver that was reported missing from the residence.
Cops believed Goldman’s gun was the murder weapon and was stolen during the course of the homicide. It has never been located.
The only clue detectives had to work on was a middle-aged white man was observed walking east on State Route 28N, in the vicinity of Goldman’s home, during the afternoon of March 29, 1983. He was described as 6-feet-tall, wearing a brown or tan coat, and a red and black hat.
He was later observed at Murdie’s Store on State Route 28N on March 30, 1983, around 6:50 a.m. On April 2, 1983, a tan trench coat was located, similar to the one worn by the suspect.
Anyone with information pertaining to Goldman, his stolen revolver, or the described male, is encouraged to contact the New York State Police at 518-897-2041.''
