NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - When a North Charleston police officer approached a stolen car Wednesday , the last thing the officer expected to find was a 3-year-old boy alone in the car holding a gun.

According to police, the child grabbed a gun from the center console as an officer approached the car. The child safely handed the gun -- which turned out to be a BB gun -- over to the officer while saying "gun, gun." police said.

The child was found in a stolen red Montero sport car with a Utah license plate after police say the father bailed out of the car. The car was located in the area of Remount and Yeahmans Hall Road

This child at 3 year old pulls out a gun. What has his father taught him! Dad jumps out and runs leaving the child with strangers. Sure they were LE but think of how the child felt. Dad runs away.

At least his Dad calls Mom to go after him but she was too busy so she sends someone else.

This poor baby!
