The Richland County Sheriff's Department charged five inmates with murder and conspiracy in the death of Antonius Randolph on Friday.

Sheriff Leon Lott announced that inmates Jayun Harrison, James Oxendine Jr., Devin Rowe, Daylan Isreal and Erick Stewart were charged in the incident in a press conference.

Randolph, 29, died at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on January 26 shortly after being arrested on accusations of a serial raping spree and multiple robbery cases in the Northeast Columbia area.

Investigators had served two more warrants to Randolph for criminal sexual conduct first degree and kidnapping on the day of his death.
