• Two brothers found a human skull while playing near a creek in South Carolina.
• Authorities later uncovered as many as 50 bones nearby, believed to belong to one person.
• Officials estimate the remains had been at the site for five to 10 years and are investigating further.

"Hopefully, the anthropologist will be able to give us a determination on gender and age range in the next day or two," the sheriff's office said, per WLOS.

Officials cannot currently determine if foul play was involved in the death of the person whose bones were found.
