Antoine Jones, originally from Greensboro, NC, was last seen at the Quality Inn, 1539 Horseshoe Dr., Columbia, SC on September 19, 1997. Upon checking the hotel room, his brother was unable to locate Antoine and reported him missing on September 20, 1997. Antoine Jones' vehicle was located later; however, Mr. Jones has not been seen or heard from since September 19, 1997.

Authorities are looking for a 29-year-old Greensboro NC man missing since he checked into a northeast Richland County motel Saturday Antoine Jones came to town in a 1993 blue Lexus with another man driving a 1994 black Lexus. the Richland County Sheriff's Department said his brother reported him missing Wednesday night. Authorities said Jones checked into the Quality Inn on Horseshoe Drive. Detectives believe he may have been seen after that but are seeking witnesses said Sheriff’s Department spokesman Joseph Pellicci. The blue Lexus was found Wednesday in Columbia after a West Columbia man wrecked it on Christian Street and left the scene of the accident. Pellicci said Columbia police charged the driver and are trying to determine who owns the car. Jones is a light-skinned black man 5-foot-11, 225 pounds with a scar on his left forearm.

<<The Lexus was located three days later. A West Columbia, South Carolina man wrecked it on Christian Street, then fled from the scene of the accident. When authorities examined the car, they found a large amount of blood inside it; they stated there was enough blood to indicate death had occurred.

In 2009, police reopened the case and took DNA from Jones's son to test it against the blood in the car. Bryen Brice was arrested and charged with Jones's murder in February 2010. He ultimately pleaded guilty.

Jones had a troubled past and was involved in drugs, and investigators believe he was killed during a botched drug deal. Another suspect, Errol West, is wanted on charges related to the case, but he remains a fugitive.

Jones's body has not been recovered, but foul play is suspected in his case due to the circumstances involved.>>
