Drayton Lucas, 24, went missing the morning of Feb. 8, according to his family. They say he walked away from their home on Whetstone Road in Swansea. It’s possible he was headed toward Orangeburg County.

Drayton is 5’10 and 150 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.

We’ve searched for Drayton by land and air on multiple occasions since his disappearance.

There are a number of mugshots available if you search for Drayton John Lucas.

That's probably why I couldn't find him in the court system, his legal first name is John. LUCAS, JOHN DRAYTON - ABC Columbia This mugshot lists the charges of trespassing but didn't state what county so I didn't find a record of follow up. Midlands Mugshots September 5 - ABC Columbia

I had to search a few counties but there's a number of criminal cases for him in Lexington County, some recent. In my opinion, this appears to be more than a young man who went for a walk and didn't return - this is a known violent offender, but he's still someone's child so hopefully he is found safe. The most recent case was a civil one, someone with the same last name evicted him, judgement in January of 2025.

This Saturday, community members are organizing a large-scale ground and water search in hopes of uncovering new clues in the mystery of his disappearance. Volunteers have been asked to gather at Ebenezer Church (2805 Whetstone Road) in Swansea at 9:00 a.m. EDT on June 14 — rain or shine. Organizers say their search will focus on wooded and rural areas between Lexington and Orangeburg counties, where Drayton is believed to have been headed.
