Detective Bobo was convicted of throwing out evidence that damaged the ability for the family of a homicide victim in Simpsonville SC of getting justice. You can see his admission in the attached article. He stated he did this to protect who he felt strongly was innocent - the person who found the body.

Cassandra Johnson Family Sues SPD

I have personally wondered if the cases are related. As a resident in the area, the location of the residences of both females, both being linked to the Ingles (grocery store), Libby’s place of work, location of the found car (Libby’s case) and body (Cassandra’s case) are all very close in proximity. There is no suspect information in Cassandra’s case like there is in Libby’s (white male seen with her by multiple witnesses at the Ingles on July 18).

IMO if there is a link, considering the area and the found remains nearby of Cassandra, perhaps she was disposed of more locally and it just has not been found. Both cases occur next to I-385 also. You can easily take this to get onto 185 within about 3-5 minutes, I-85 within 10 minutes and also to I-26 within 25-30 minutes roughly. The area where both occurred - residences and last known locations - are all locations where people are passing through, are industrial, and back then were intermixed with more rural areas as well. Even to this day Grandview Rd is not somewhere you want to be walking on foot late at night and a lot of these roads are faster speed passing-through roads.

I believe I have found Libby. I have contacted LE & NAMUS more than once over the last year. No response from LE., NAMUS was less than helpful — Contacting PD again. Will update

I was wrong..

The Jane Doe I believed to have been Libby, (which had such striking similarities) has been identified.
I am glad they were identified, however, it is still very sad for Libbys family.

Crawford's nickname is Libby, and she may also use the last name Jones.

Details of Disappearance

Crawford received a phone call from an unidentified man with a deep voice. on July 16, 1986 at her residence at Cherrywood Mobile Home Park in the 100 block of Cherrywood Park in Simpsonville, South Carolina. She told her son she was going to visit a friend at approximately 10:30 p.m., shortly after her phone conversation ended. She never returned home.

Crawford's friend told authorities that Crawford never arrived at her residence that evening. Two witnesses believe they saw her with an unidentified Caucasian male outside of the Ingles in Simpsonville on July 18, two days after she disappeared. She has never been heard from again.

Crawford's burgundy and white or blue and white two-door 1978 Chevrolet Malibu was found abandoned at the Fountain Inn parking lot on Georgia Street in Simpsonville on July 19, 1986, in front of Wilson Sporting Goods. This is about six miles from where she was last seen. The vehicle had been wiped clean of prints and the driver's seat was pushed all the way back; Crawford drove with it pushed forward.

At the time of her disappearance, Crawford was dealing with financial problems and she may have been depressed. Since she went missing there hasn't been any activity on her Social Security number. She worked as a weaver at the Beattie Plant when she went missing, and enjoyed drawing and ballroom dancing. Her case remains unsolved.

Wednesday night
Today is July 16, 2025
39 years ago. allegedly you got a phone call from a male with a deep voice. You had fallen asleep on the sofa and had to be awaken by your son. You took the call. Shortly after the call ended you told your son you were going to a 'friends' house and would be back. You never returned! At that time I was working at a convalescent center in Marietta. I had already worked a 12 hour shift and had been asked by the daughter of the 2nd shift nurse if I would work over another 6 hours because her mother had OD'ed earlier and was in ER. I stayed. I called you on Thursday like we always did on our days off when neither you and I worked. You working the 'mini shift' at the Beattie Plant in Fountain Inn Friday-Sunday. I worked 7 days on/7 days off 12 hour shifts. When I called you on Thursday I was told you had gone to the store and would be back in a little bit. Called again same day and you were still not back. 3rd time calling, same day, and you were still not there. Called again on Friday, July 18, 1948..........finally your son told me that you had left that Wednesday and had not come home. Living in northern Greenville, I packed up the girls in the car and drove down to Simpsonville to the police department. Explained to the officers about the situation. They said it was 'too early' to file a report. Frustration set in for me. Went to the Simpsonville Police Department........again on Saturday, July 19, 1986..........filed a 'missing person report' on you and while there there was a call from Fountain Inn Police that your car had been found. Followed the police to where your car was located. Georgia Street in a industrial park. Forensics from Greenville was called. Your car was dusted with NO fingerprints found. Not even yours. Car windows were down. The front seat was pushed all the way back. You, being 5' 2", you drove with the car seat all the way up.
(more to come)...........

Thank you to each and everyone of you for following my sister's FB page. Please share the post to spread the word about Libby. It's been 39 years now and I miss her so much. Libby was a strong woman, so much stronger than me. She stood her ground when she believed she had been wronged. But she also had her weaknesses too. She was going through a real hard time in her life when she disappeared which has caused me to have so many 'wonder what happened' moments! I'm still looking for Libby and will never give up......... When Libby's car was found........it was cleaned..........down to not any fingerprints......not even Libby's were found. An old purse with a few eating utensils inside the purse.......and a receipt from a 'local drug store' in Simpsonville that was picked up that the day by Libby for a 'friend' and took it to that 'said' person. When questioned by the police, denied seeing Libby. There were so many mistakes made by then police, it's blabber gasting......to say the least. Please help me find my sister............Love and prayers for you all.
