The area her vehicle was found is very rural and isolated. :/

Missing South Carolina woman’s vehicle found abandoned in neighboring county
Investigators in South Carolina are looking for a 21-year-old woman last seen on December 15, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office says.

Flavie Alix Marie Cocard told her family she was leaving that day, but did not say why or where she was going.

Two days later, the Abbeville County Sheriff’s Office found Cocard’s abandoned vehicle in a rural area of the county but found no sign of the missing woman.

Abbeville County Sheriff Ray Watson told the Index-Journal that deputies searched a two-mile radius around where the vehicle was found with bloodhounds, searched nearby woods, and flew a drone over the area.

The South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division and federal authorities are assisting with the search, the sheriff said.

“We just haven’t been able to locate her,” he said.

Where is the media? This case needs more attention. :( This is the most recent article I can find.

Flavie Alix Marie Cocard, 21, was last seen on Dec. 15 before telling her family she was leaving, but she apparently did not give them a reason, deputies say.

Two days later, last Thursday, her vehicle was found abandoned by the Abbeville County Sheriff’s Office.

Cocard is of French descent...

Gosh, this case is so quiet. I can't find any updates or family/friend posts about Flavie's disappearance. I wonder if she might have headed toward Atlanta? It's only about 2.5 - 3 hrs away from where her car was located, and Atl has so much to offer in the way of opportunities. She does have one FB friend who lives in Atlanta, although he stopped posting the day before she disappeared until 15 Jan 2021. I wonder if perhaps he's seen or heard from her.

I hope she is safe and will be located very soon.

Bringing my post forward to show how rural/wooded the area where her car was found is. If she walked into those woods, it might be next to impossible to find her unless a hunter stumbles across her. :(

Her phone not being found in the car gives me pause, though. It would seem possible she could have stepped out of her car, phone in hand, to speak to someone and something non-voluntary happened.

I think the thing that bothers me the most on this one is the lack of SM posts from friends or family. As far as LE and MSM here, it's not uncommon for there to be scant information on an adult MP. JMOO

Self-harm? If so, why did she take her phone? Sounds like she left everything behind but her phone. Or someone was on her so quickly, she had no chance to gather anything else. Did he go walking or hunting and get lost? But she had her phone, but she was in the middle of nowhere land. Did she know this area?
Or she was harmed by a hunter's shot, or caught in some kind of trap, and is just lost in the woods which seem to be the only thing around for miles...
Near a rifle range, oh my...
All I have is questions, of course. Hoping for a good resolution soon, as we all do.

Mauldin is only about 10 minutes driving distance away from where these unidentified remains were located. Although Flavie's car was found about an hour away in Abbeville County, is it possible she could have been in Greenville at some point after leaving home?

Ugh . . . . just looked at the map and noticed Camelot Inn. Rough area . . . . honestly thought that place was closed. Many, many years ago the Camelot had a reputation for drugs and prostitution.

However, based on another article, I am doubtful this is Flavie. There is a 30ish year old male missing from that side of town, but I will have to dig up his name again.

The coroner told 7News they believe the person whose remains were found had been dead for possibly a month. They also said they are still working to discover if the person who died was male or female and that we could know more from the investigation into the remains at the end of this week or early next week.

ETA - Missing man is Garrett Hunter McDonald. I will make a thread for him.

TY for this article. The article at the link I posted hadn't specified a PMI for the deceased.
