SC SC - Gaffney, Oak Ridge Rd, Cherokee Co, poss murdered male dumped in well, Mar'20

Cherokee County authorities have discovered remains of a possible body in an abandoned 26-foot-deep well that may have been dumped there several years ago.

Sheriff Steve Mueller said Monday investigators have been at the property on Oak Ridge Road in Gaffney since last Wednesday after receiving a tip that a male may have been murdered in the home and dumped in a well on the property eight to 10 years ago.

Donnie Pennington is the only male in NAMUS missing from that county.

Here it says “authorities do not suspect foul play”... I spoze it’s possible to fall into a well, depending on how old it is/ construction type. But leaning toward someone put him there- if the remains are Donnie P.

The 2 areas mentioned in the above links are on opposite sides of Gaffney, SC.

Pennington was last seen at approximately 8:00 p.m. on March 4, 2006, at a residence in the vicinity of Timken Road and the 2200 block of Old Georgia Highway in Gaffney, South Carolina.

Remains from “8-10 yrs ago” found on Oak Ridge Road in Gaffney.

The well is 26’ deep & the property is abandoned. Wondering who called that tip in & how they knew! And of course if it’s Pennington or someone else!
