''GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) — Thirty-five years ago, Josefino Bugarin, aka Joe the Barber, was murdered at his Goose Creek barbershop. Now, the Goose Creek Police Department is reopening the case, and is already finding new leads that could help them solve this decades-old cold case.''

''Josefino Bugarin was murdered at his barbershop in 1987.

“I just, just remember being hysteric,” she says. “Just crying and wanting to go see him, and they wouldn’t let me go.”

Goose Creek Police says her dad was likely targeted.

“He would carry cash, and when people would come to get their haircut, he would pull out that wad of cash and they would pay him,” Cauthan says.''

''The case went cold until 1996 when four people were arrested for Bugarin’s murder. Police say two of the suspects were children of a former city council member. The charges were eventually dropped and expunged.''
