Circumstances: Lakendra is believed to be in the local area. She has a scar on her right arm, her forehead, and her right knee.

They called her "endangered runaway". Doesn't appear that she ran away now. Wonder how many people knew she was in that house for EIGHT years?! :tears:

The length of time since death cannot be determined. A manner and cause of death are still under investigation

Well, this is horrible. Maybe the family can find some peace in knowing where she is now. It's so hard to say that, but I can't imagine the sorrow of having a loved one missing and knot knowing. Seems like the "not knowing" would be the most difficult.

Dozens attended a candlelight vigil Sunday evening in memory of Lakendra Powers after her remains were found last month in Florence eight years after she was reported missing.
