"I'm confident that one day we're going to have this trial and he's going to be found not guilty," Miller's attorney Russell Long told Judge Byron David during a Nov. 7 bond hearing.
"He's operated a church for years down in the Market Common area, long said, adding "He's certainly not a danger to the community."
Long blamed a protester for the altercation, saying in court that she antagonized the pastor as he was at the church with other staff members.

I noticed that he looked down at his phone the whole way out. He felt exposed and he didn’t want anyone to take photos.

He was likely having withdrawal symptoms from not having access to his phone while under arrest.
I agree he will likely beat this charge, but I (immaturely) liked seeing him arrested. Let’s hope it’s the beginning of the end for him.

Ward said the U.S. Attorney General’s Office asked her months ago to turn over any documents related to Mica Miller. Ward has represented Mica’s family and estate since her death.
Ward said the documents she provided helped the FBI obtain a search warrant to search John-Paul’s home.
Ward said the assault charge after Wednesday’s confrontation might only be a misdemeanor, but if a federal charge ever does come, it could impact the court’s decision to give him bond. It would also depend on whether the current assault charge has been resolved.
“At the end of the day, it sure is going to help this case going forward,” Ward said. “And he might as well get used to it. We’re [protesters] not going away, we’re not going away, until he goes away.”

I am shocked about the assault charge, NOT. I can't wait to see what the FBI charges him with...I think it is like a Sean Combs situation. It took them a while to charge him after the search warrants.

Spot on! The guy has it coming to him. P-Diddy has to be fresh in his mind. If they can take him down, JP is easy peasy.
JP likes the attention and confidence that his congregation gives. They look up to him as a Godly church figure and it’s been a cover for his dark perversions.

BBM - Her statement reminded me of frantic JP trying to get into Mica's apartment after she died. JP knows exactly what Mica had on him and he was desperate to recover it. I'm hopeful! All JMO
He has distorted thinking about being in front of a group of people and indoctrinating them with his lies. In some respects that worked for him at church but they had been indoctrinated over several months and years. A jury isn’t going to have the time or interest for his bs.

The first time he spoke to the congregation announcing her death it was obvious that he was a phony. They weren’t even living together at that time but he knew what she was thinking and what meds she was taking?!
